Abstract
Belajar sejarah merupakan salah satu hal yang penting dilakukan oleh generasi muda untuk memahami nilai-nilai penting di masa lampau yang dapat diterapkan di masa sekarang. Salah satu sejarah yang penting dipelajari yaitu Sejarah VOC di Indonesia. Menurut Dr. Anhar Gonggong, Sejarah VOC merupakan awal kolonialisme Belanda di Indonesia yang telah memberikan banyak pengaruh bagi Indonesia. Namun kesadaran belajar sejarah generasi muda masih kurang karena media utama pembelajarannya masih terbatas pada buku pelajaran sehingga membuat generasi muda merasa bosan. Agar pembelajaran Sejarah VOC lebih menarik, maka dibuatlah video eksplainer motion graphic sebagai media pendukung pembelajaran Sejarah. Metode yang digunakan untuk merancang video eksplainer ini adalah studi eksisting, studi eksperimental, depth interview, dan kuesioner user test. Studi eksisting untuk meninjau hasil desain terdahulu yang digunakan sebagai referensi dalam pembuatan video, studi eksperimental untuk merancang naskah, storyboard, desain karakter dan environment, depth interview untuk mendapat masukan hasil eksperimental dari para ahli, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada target audiens terhadap prototype dan final desain untuk mendapatkan feedback sebagai evaluasi. Perancangan ini menghasilkan luaran berupa video eksplainer motion graphic 2D bertema Sejarah Indonesia dengan Topik Sejarah VOC di Indonesia yang menjelaskan Sejarah VOC mulai dari masa berdirinya, VOC di Indonesia, dan masa runtuhnya VOC. Video ini menggunakan gaya penyampaian kasual, visual karakter kartun semirealis dan warna yang bertema pastel ke arah cokelat dan biru, dan teknik motion graphic. Distribusi video akan diunggah melalui Youtube sehingga mudah diakses oleh generasi muda. Dengan adanya perancangan ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan ketertarikan dan kesadaran generasi muda untuk belajar Sejarah. Kata kunci : Video Eksplainer, Sejarah VOC di Indonesia, Belajar Sejarah

Learning history is one of the important things for the younger generation to understand important values in the past that can be applied today. One of the important histories to study is the history of the VOC in Indonesia. According to Dr. Anhar Gonggong, History of the VOC is the beginning of Dutch colonialism in Indonesia which has given a lot of influence to Indonesia. However, the awareness of learning history for the younger generation is still lacking because the main media for learning is still limited to textbooks so that the younger generation feels bored. To make learning VOC History more interesting, a motion graphic explanatory video was made as a media to support history learning. The methods used to design this explanatory video are existing studies, experimental studies, depth interviews, and user test questionnaires. Existing studies to review the results of previous designs used as references in making videos, experimental studies to design scripts, storyboards, character and environment designs, depth interviews to get input on experimental results from experts, and distributing questionnaires to the target audience for the prototype and final design to get feedback as an evaluation. This design produces an output in the form of a 2D motion graphic explanatory video themed History of Indonesia with the topic of the History of the VOC in Indonesia which explains the history of the VOC starting from the time of its establishment, the VOC in Indonesia, and the period of the collapse of the VOC. This video uses a casual delivery style, semi-realistic cartoon character visuals and pastel-themed colors to brown and blue, and motion graphic techniques. The distribution of videos will be uploaded via Youtube so that it is easily accessible by the younger generation.
