Abstract

Arrhythmia is a disorder that occurs in the heart rhythm that can cause complications in other organs and even sudden death. In order to diagnose heart conditions, it is necessary to conduct an ECG examination by measuring and recording the condition of the electrical activity of the heart using an electrocardiograph. In this study, the development of a device that can detect arrhythmias based on a 12 lead ECG sensor was carried out using the Pan Tompkins method. The Pan Tompkins method is a QRS complex detection method that is commonly used with good test results. The application of the Pan Tompkins method on the 12 lead ECG signal can minimize errors in the detection results of the R peak of the signal caused by the shape of the signal. In the test results, only 1% error was obtained in the heart rate calculation so that it can be used as a parameter to detect arrhythmia conditions in patients. The development of this 12-lead ECG device is expected to help paramedics to diagnose heart disease as early as possible in patients.
