Abstract

Wayang yang pada dasarnya bercerita mengenai karakter pahlawan yang melawan
tokoh-tokoh jahat ini digemari dari generasi ke generasi dan telah melekat di benak masyarakat
hingga kini, menunjukkan betapa wayang memiliki arti penting dan nilai yang tinggi di
masyarakat Indonesia. Wayang, khususnya wayang kulit memberikan arti penting dalam
pengembangan industri kreatif berbasis budaya lokal. Di daerah wonogiri jwa tengah terdapat
kampung wayang yang sudah mulai menurun karena banyaknya pengrajin yang beralih profesi
hal ini dikarenakan semakin jarang diminati produk kerajinan wayang kulit maupun turunannya.
Menurut beberapa sumber, dapat diketahui bahwa kurangnya pengembangan produk turunan
wayang kulit dengan melihat macam produk yang sudah dihasilkan hingga saat ini, sehingga
diperlukannya inovasi baik dari segi pengembangan produk, bentuk, serta branding untuk
meningkatkan eksistensi yang mulai menurun. Pengembangan produk yang akan dilakukan
yaitu sebagai produk perhiasan dimana ditunjang dengan melihat berkembangnya sektor
industri fashion di Indonesia. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan
melakukan wawancara terhadap user dan memetakan consumer journey serta melakukan
beberapa brainstorming ideasi konsep desain. Dari metode serta eksplorasi yang telah
dilakukan didapatkan hasil dengan penggunaan teknik punching pada material kulit yang sudah
di tatah dan di sungging dengan hasil akhir berupa bentuk 3D.

Wayang, which basically tells the story of a hero who fights crime, which has been favored from
generation to generation and has stuck in people's minds until now, shows the value of a
character who has great importance and value in Indonesian society. Wayang, especially
wayang kulit, provide an important meaning in the development of a local culture-based creative
industry. In the Wonogiri area, Central Java, there is a wayang village which has begun to
decline due to the number of craftsmen who have switched professions due to the increasing
demand for wayang craft products and their derivatives. According to several sources, it can be
seen that there is very little development of wayang kulit derivative products by looking at the
various products produced to date, so that innovation is needed both in terms of product
development, form, and branding to improve the declining existence. The product development
that will be carried out is as a jewelry product which is supported by seeing the development of
the fashion industry sector in Indonesia. The method used in this research is to conduct
interviews with users and consumer journeys and conduct some brainstorming of design concept
ideas.Keywords: Tatah Sunggging, jewelry, craftsmen. From the methods and explorations that
have been carried out, the results obtained using the punching technique on leather material that
has been inlaid and sungging with the final result in the form of 3D.
