Abstract

Teknologi Kendaraan listrik muncul terutama karena ketidakstabilan harga bahan bakar fosil,sumber daya, dan dampak buruk pemanasan global. Karena sebagian besar sistem transportasi menggunakan bahan bakar fosil dan mengeluarkan gas rumah kaca, banyak peneliti telah mempelajari potensi kendaraan bermotor listrik dengan fuel cell. Meskipun demikian, salah satu hambatan utama kendaraan listrik adalah kemampuan penyeimbang daya di sistem kendaraan listrik. Sebuah kendaraan listrik membutuhkan daya spesifik yang tinggi (W/kg) dan energi spesifik yang tinggi (W·h/kg). Media penyimpanan energy yang paling banyak digunakan pada kendaraan listrik adalah baterai. Baterai memiliki kerapatan energi yang tinggi namun kerapatan daya yang rendah. Pada baterai terdapat beberapa permasalahan diantaranya penurunan usia yang disebabkan oleh arus charge dan discharge pada drive cycle tertentu. Superkapasitor memiliki kerapatan daya, tetapi kerapatan energi rendah, dan melepaskan daya dengan cepat. Serta Flywheel yang memiliki kerapatan energi tinggi dan juga kerapatan daya yang tinggi dengan siklus hidup yang lebih tinggi dari baterai dan superkapasitor. Dari studi tugas akhir ini membandingkan beberapa alat penyeimbang daya serta mensimulasikan sistem penyeimbang daya dari beberapa penyeimbang daya yang ada pada kendaraan listrik

Electric vehicle technology emerged mainly due to the volatility of fossil fuel prices, resources, and the adverse effects of global warming. Because most transportation systems use fossil fuels and emit greenhouse gases, many researchers have studied the potential of electric motorized vehicles with fuel cells. Nonetheless, one of the main obstacles to electric vehicles is the ability to balance the power in the electric vehicle system. An electric vehicle requires high specific power (W/kg) and high specific energy (W h/kg). The most widely used energy storage media in electric vehicles is the battery. Batteries have a high energy density but a low power density. In the battery there are several problems including a decrease in age caused by charge and discharge currents in certain drive cycles. Supercapacitors have power density, but low energy density, and discharge power quickly. As well as Flywheel which has a high energy density and also a high power density with a higher cycle life than batteries and supercapacitors. From this final project study compares several power balancing devices and simulates a power balancing system from several existing power balancers in electric vehicles
