Abstract
Karakterisasi senyawa biomarka pada fraksi hidrokarbon alifatik dan aromatik terhadap sampel Batubara Muara Tiga Besar (MTB-49) telah berhasil dilakukan. Analisis yang dilakukan dengan metode ekstraksi, fraksinasi dan identifikasi dengan Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa (KG-MS) memberikan informasi kelimpahan senyawa homolog n-alkana dengan distribusi bimodal. Selain kelimpahan senyawa homolog n-alkana, terdapat beberapa kelompok senyawa seperti isoprenoid dan pentasiklik triterpana. Pada fraksi hidrokarbon aromatik, hasil identifikasi menemukan kelompok senyawa seperti derivat naftalena, derivat fenantrena, dan triterpenoid aromatik pentasiklik. Digunakan aspek geokimia untuk menganalisis senyawa biomarka yang terdapat pada sampel batubara. Keberadaan senyawa homolog n-alkana memberikan keterangan bahwa sumber asal-usul bahan organik berasal dari bakteri, alga, dan tumbuhan tingkat tinggi terrestrial. Hasil parameter yang didapat seperti CPI > 1, OEP > 1, LHCPI < 1, rasio C31αβ22S/(22S+22R) serta keberadaan beberapa senyawa seperti olean-12-ena, olean-18-ena neohop-13(18)-ena, 17α(H)-21β(H)- homohopana (22S), dan 17α(H)-21β(H)-homohopana (22R) menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan senyawa merupakan dominasi dari struktur senyawa yang tak jenuh sehingga mengindikasikan tingkat kematangan rendah. Ditunjukkan pada plot silang Diagram Hunt, rasio pada Pr/n-C17 terhadap Ph/n-C18 berada pada kategori Kerogen Tipe III (gas prone) dan merupakan sampel yang berasal dari lingkungan pengendapan yang bersifat oksik. Maka dari itu, sampel batubara MTB-49 Formasi Muara Enim, Cekungan Sumatera Selatan merupakan produk sampel yang memiliki potensi sebagai sumber Coalbed Methane (CBM).

Characterization of biomarker compounds from aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon fraction of Muara Tiga Besar coal (MTB-49) samples has been successfully collected. The analysis carried out by extraction, fractination, and identification by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) provided the information on the abundance of n-alkanes homologous compouns with a bimodal distribution. In addition to the abundance of n-alkane homologous compounds, there are several groups of compounds such as isoprenoid and pentacyclic triterpanes. In the aromatic hydrocarbon fraction, the identification found groups of compounds such as naphthalene derivatives, phenanthrene derivatives, and pentacyclic aromatics triterpenoids. The geochemical aspects are used to analyze biomarker compounds that contained in coal samples. The existence of n-alkane homologous compounds provides information that the source of organic matter are originates from bacteria, algae, and higher terrestrial plants. The results of parameter such as CPI > 1, OEP > 1, LHCPI <1, C31αβ22S/(22S+22R), and the presence of several compounds such as olean-12-ene, olean-18-ene, neohop-13(18)-ene, 17α(H)-21β(H)- homohopana (22S), and 17α(H)-21β(H)-homohopana (22R) show that the compounds has an unsaturated structures that indicating low maturity levels. Hunt Diagram shows the cross plot of Pr/n-C17 against Ph/n-C18 which is a Kerogen Type 3 (gas prone) category and the sample is originates from an oxic depositional enviroment. Therefore, the coal samples of MTB-49 coal from Muara Enim Formation, South Sumatera Basin has a potention as a source of Coalbed Methane (CBM).
