Abstract

Berdasarkan survei Greenpeace International, perusahaan Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) adalah kekuatan dominan di balik model ekonomi sekali pakai yang mendorong krisis sampah plastik. Dalam perusahaan FMCG, sampah plastik berasal dari konsumsi dan dari setiap proses produksi dalam rantai pasok yang juga menghasilkan limbah industri. Limbah industri tersebut harus ditangani secara tepat agar tidak menimbulkan efek lanjutan yang sehingga diperlukan adanya konsep sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). Dalam praktiknya, sustainable supply chain management belum berjalan sempurna karena hingga saat ini perusahaan FMCG masih tercatat menjadi penyumbang sampah plastik terbesar di Indonesia. Penelitian ini membahas praktik SSCM pada salah satu perusahaan FMCG yaitu PT XYZ dan berfokus pada rantai pasok sustainable packaging. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penerapan SSCM dalam rantai pasok dan perbaikan apa yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi waste serta dampak negatif yang ada pada rantai pasok. Penilaian dari praktik rantai pasok ini dihasilkan dari perhitungan software Life Cycle Assessment yaitu Simapro dengan metode CML-IA baseline V3.06 / EU25. Dalam metode CML-IA baseline merepresentasikan dampak lingkungan dari model sistem yang dievaluasi menggunakan 11 indikator dan ditambah dengan data total penggunaan air dalam alur rantai pasok perusahaan. Dampak negatif lingkungan terbesar yang dihasilkan adalah global warming, human toxicity, dan marine aquatic ecotoxicity. Kontribusi terbesar penyebab dampak negatif lingkungan tersebut adalah konsumsi energi listrik dan air yang menghasilkan CO2 berlebih serta mesin boiler yang menghasilkan NO2 berlebih. Perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan reduksi gas CO2 dan penggunaan bahan bakar alternatif untuk boiler ramah lingkungan.

According to a Greenpeace International survey, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies are the dominant force behind the single-use economic model driving the plastic waste crisis. In FMCG companies, plastic waste comes from consumption and from every production process in the supply chain which also produces industrial waste. This industrial waste must be handled properly so as not to cause further effects, so that the concept of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) is needed. In practice, sustainable supply chain management is not perfect because until now FMCG companies are still the largest contributor to plastic waste in Indonesia. This study discusses SSCM practices in one of the FMCG companies, namely PT XYZ and focuses on sustainable packaging supply chains. The purpose of this study is to find out the application of SSCM in the supply chain and what improvements can be made to reduce waste and the negative impacts that exist in the supply chain. The assessment of this supply chain practice is generated from the calculation of the Life Cycle Assessment software, namely Simapro with the CML-IA baseline V3.06 / EU25 method. In the CML-IA method, the baseline represents the environmental impact of the system model which is evaluated using 11 indicators and added to the total water use data in the company's supply chain flow. The biggest negative environmental impacts produced are global warming, human toxicity, and marine aquatic ecotoxicity. The biggest contribution to the cause of the negative environmental impact is the consumption of electricity and water which produce excess CO2 and boiler engines which produce excess NO2. Improvements that can be made are by reducing CO2 gas and using alternative fuels for environmentally friendly boilers.
