Abstract

Beberapa tahun terakhir, popularitas Internet of Things (IoT) semakin meningkat.

In recent years, the popularity of the Internet of Things (IoT) has been growing. IoT's primary and most basic concept can be explained with a 3-layer architecture: application layer, network layer, and perception/sensing layer. Some critical conditions that must be considered in choosing an IoT device are energy efficiency, small size, and mobility support. Low-end or limited devices are the ones that best meet this need. The data obtained by the IoT device will be sent to another device or cloud server. Several communication protocols have been developed to support data exchange between devices and cloud servers. A large number of connected devices creates uncertainty between connected devices, so it is crucial to ensure the identity of each sender and receiver. This study proposes an authentication scheme using the envelope method to overcome authentication problems on restricted devices. In implementing the envelope method, encryption is used to secure the data sent. The performance achieved is still within tolerance limits considering the authentication scheme has succeeded in providing security services in the form of authentication, data confidentiality, data integrity, and non-repudiation.
