Abstract

Transportation is a derived need that arises from the demand for various commodities. Sea transportation is the most widely used mode of transportation in the process of transporting goods. In 2020, 63.31% of goods transportation was dominated by containerized cargo. Therefore, terminals as part of ports that handle containerized cargo require good planning so that they can serve ships and goods optimally. However, there is currently no standard model that can be used to measure the efficiency of a container terminal design. Therefore, a standard model is needed as a guide for the construction and development of container terminals to avoid terminals with excessive or insufficient specifications. In this final thesis, nine configurations were set with different specifications for loading and unloading equipment on the dock and in the stacking field. In the calculation model, the total cost of producing ship and goods services in the long term was found with the lowest Net Present Value (NPV). Based on the calculation results, the most optimum configuration was obtained for each container flow, namely configuration S3 selected for container flow 50,000 TEUs, configuration S6 selected for container flow 100,000, 200,000, 350,000 to 550,000 TEUs, 800.000 to 1.150.000 TEUs and 1.450.000 to 1.800.000 TEUs. Configuration S9 is selected for 150.000, 250.000, to 300.000 TEUs and 1.850.000 to 2.000.000 TEUs. The configuration model is compared to four container terminals in Indonesia, namely Berlian Jasa Terminal Indonesia (BJTI), Kaltim Kariangau Terminal (KKT), Semarang Container Terminal (TPKS), and Surabaya Container Terminal (TPS) so that all container terminals are non-standard according to the standard container terminal model.
