Abstract
Passive method for improving indoor thermal condition is encouraged, although the use of artificial means (Air Conditioning) is increasing. The poor nighttime condition in low and middle income houses is caused by closing windows and doors during nighttime. That opening pattern is very popular for Indonesian people. As a consequence, they find uncomfortable condition in the bedrooms. A research in night ventilation in living room of a house for middle income people indicates that the strategy gives a reasonable effect in reducing indoor temperature, both during nighttime and in the next daytime. This study focuses on night ventilation for providing thermal comfort during sleeping time. Measurement of temperature and humidity is conducted in a bedroom for middle income people in Surabaya. Life style of the residents during sleeping time. Measurement of temperature and humidity is conducted in a bedroom for middle income people in Surabaya. Life style of the residents during sleeping time is analyzed. This study shows the analysis of the temperature reduction during nighttime, comfortable sensation of human body. In addition a method of observing comfortable sensation during sleeping time is proposed
