Abstract
=================================================================================================================================
The construction industry is a very risky industry where work accidents often occur. This is indicated by the number of work accidents which tend to increase every year, where unsafe behavior is the main contributor to work accidents. It is important to raise awareness of safety behavior in the workplace, as this can be influenced by a number of factors. The influence produced by each factor will certainly be different for each individual. The values of safety leadership from a leader are expected to have an impact on organizational safety aspects which in turn can improve safety performance. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of safety leadership, safety culture, safety motivation, and safety behavior in the context of the construction industry in Indonesia. A conceptual model was developed to examine the relationship between the four main constructs and a survey was designed to validate the proposed framework and assess its impact on safety behavior. The population in this study were workers in the construction sector on ongoing projects in Indonesia with a sample of 200 respondents. The covariance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach was used to validate the proposed model. The results of the study show that safety leadership does not directly affect safety behavior but must be mediated by safety culture and safety motivation, but safety culture here does not significantly influence safety motivation.
