Abstract

Air limbah mengandung lebih dari 99.9% cairan dan 0.1% padatan. Secara kualitatif, padatan limbah cair rumah tangga sebagian besar terdiri dari padatan organik yaitu protein (65%), karbohidrat (25%), dan lemak (10%). Sedangkan padatan non-organik terdiri dari grit, garam-garam dan logam berat, zat ini merupakan bahan pencemar utama bagi lingkungan. Salah satu teknologi pengolahan limbah yang sedang berkembang pesat adalah teknologi membran.
Pada penelitian ini digunakan 2 jenis variabel penelitian yaitu konsentrasi air limbah dan bahan kimia pencucian membran dengan menggunakan cleaning agent. Variasi konsentrasi air limbah yaitu pada COD 174 mg/L, 152 mg/L, dan 98 mg/L sedangkan TSS 357 mg/L, 282 mg/L, dan 195 mg/L. Variasi cleaning agent membran yaitu menggunakan larutan NaOCl 10% dan larutan lerak 15%.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pengaruh konsentrasi air limbah dan larutan pencuci terhadap koefisien rejeksi dan nilai fluks pada membran. Data koefisien rejeksi dan nilai fluks menentukan larutan pencuci yang terbaik untuk membran zeolit. Karakterisasi membran dilakukan dengan metode Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
Cleaning agent membran terbaik terhadap efektifitas kinerja membran zeolit adalah dengan larutan NaOCl 10%. Nilai koefisien rejeksi (%R) membran zeolit yang optimal pada membran yaitu 82% pada konsentrasi awal COD 174 mg/L dengan larutan NaOCl 10% dan 88% pada konsentrasi awal TSS 357 mg/L dengan larutan NaOCl 10%. Nilai fluks (J) yang tinggi terjadi pada membran dengan larutan NaOCl 10% dan konsentrasi air limbah 100% yaitu 39.2 L/m2.jam pada pencucian pertama dan 13.4 L/m2.jam pada pencucian kedua. Sedangkan Nilai fluks (J) pada larutan lerak 15% dan konsentrasi air limbah 100% yaitu 8.1 L/m2.jam pada pencucian pertama dan 10.0 L/m2.jam pada pencucian kedua. Scale up sidestream MBR pada debit air limbah domestik 99 m3/hari yaitu membutuhkan volume pada tangki aerasi (4.8 x 4 x 3.3) m3 sebagai pengolahan biologis dan luas permukaan membran yang dibutuhkan 56.82 m2 pada tahap filtrasi.

Wastewater contains more than 99.9% liquid and 0.1% solid. Qualitatively, domestic wastewater mostly consist of organic solids, which are proteins (65%), carbohydrates (25%), and greases (10%). While the anorganic solids consist of grit, salts, and heavy metals, which are the main pollutants for environment. One of the advanced wastewater treatment technologies, is membrane technology.
In this research, two kinds of variables are used, they were the concentration of wastewater and the cleaning agent solutions for regeneration membrane. Variations in the concentration of wastewater that is at COD 174 mg/L, 152 mg/L, and 98 mg/L while TSS 357 mg/L, 282 mg/L, and 195 mg/L. Variations of cleaning agent solutions are NaOCl (liq) 10% and Lerak Solutions 15%.
The aims of this research to knew the effect of wastewater concentration and cleaning agent solution for rejection coefficient values and flux values of zeolite membrane. Characteristic of zeolite membrane will be analyzed by the method of SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy).
The best of cleaning agent solution for regeneration membrane was NaOCl (liq) 10%. The optimal rejection coefficient value of zeolite membrane is 82% with initial concentration of COD 174 mg/L and NaOCL (liq) 10% and 88% with initial concentration of TSS 357 mg/L and NaOCl (liq) 10% as well. The flux values (J) highest score for membrane happened when using NaOCl (liq) 10% and concentration of 100% wastewater, that result is 39.2 L/m2.hour of the first cleaning process and 13.4 L/m2.hour of the second cleaning process. While, The flux values (J) of lerak solution 15% and concentration of 100% wastwater is 8.1 L/m2.hour of the first cleaning process and 10.0 L/m2.hour of the second cleaning process. Scale up of MBR in the discharge of domestic wastewater 99 m3/day are volume in the aeration tank (4.8 x 4 x 3.3) m3 as biological treatment and surface area of membrane 56.82 m2 as filtration process.
