Abstract

Resnick sebesar 17,16, sedangkan RMSE model Smith sebesar 17,37. Hasil
perhitungan return level diketahui pula bahwa nilai curah hujan maksimum
semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahu

Extreme Value Theory (EVT) is one of statistical method to analyze
extreme events. It usually used to model extreme events, rare one but have huge
impact. EVT applied in environment field is referred to extreme weather analysis,
such as blizzards, heat waves and extreme rainfall that cause destructive impact on
human life. Generally, the extreme event is analyzed by univariate method or only
by one location involved. In the study of weather elements quantity such as
temperature and precipitation, it measured based on location or correspond to the
principle of spatial data. Therefore, spatial modeling for the analysis of extreme
events is necessary. A method that can be used here is Max Stable Processes
(MSP). This method models the extremal dependencies between locations by
transforming the marginal distribution of extreme value into Frechet distribution.
This study examines the extreme spatial analysis procedures of Max Stable
Processes using extreme rainfall data in Lamongan. The data used to build the
model and parameter estimation is the rainfall data of 1981-2007, while the
validation is performed using data of 2009-2012. The resulting extremal
coefficient indicates that the magnitude of extremal dependencies is in the range
of 1,3 to 1,5 that means spatial dependencies exist. The model validated by
estimating the return level of 2009-2012 ahead through Smith and Brown-Resnick
model of MSP. The result shows that Brown-Resnick model is better than Smith
in estimating return level with RMSE of Brown-Resnick 17,16, while the RMSE
of Smith 17,37. Return level resulted indicates that maximum precipitation value
is increasing from year to year.
