Abstract

Injection pile on soft soil (clay) can cause ground movement and excess pore water pressure around the pile, and can cause potential damage to the surrounding structures, such as ground movement that occurs in the project SL and project built in the area of former shopping complex in Surabaya. Until now, the prediction of ground movement and excess pore water pressure due to the installation of pile is still underway for the assessment, development, and further research, especially for installation of pile group ( > 1 pile ).
This study aims to model installations of single pile and pile groups ( > 1 pile ) to obtain trends lateral displacement of soil and excess pore water pressure, as well as to determine influence the pile diameter, number of pile and Pile installations direction against lateral displacement of soil and excess pore water pressure. Modeling in this study was conducted using Cavity Displacement-Controlled Expansion method (DCCE) with PLAXIS 2D and 3D program. Verification of the model is done by comparing the single pile model results and the cylindrical cavity expansion theory (CCE).
From the modeling results it is known that numerical modeling Injection Pile on clay (undrained conditions) can be performed using the DCCE method with prescribed displacement 0,21d - 0,25d and Mohr-Coulomb soil model, modeling of Pile group ( > 1 pile ) can be modeled using PLAXIS 3D. The diference of lateral displacement between theory CCE and output from PLAXIS with fine mesh is 10%, The diference of excess pore water pressure between output from PLAXIS and theory CCE is 20%, this deference depend genereted mehs . Trends lateral displacement of soil in plastic zone is relatively uniform at any depth, while the trend of excess pore water pressure depends on soil parameters at each depth. when the diameter increases, the lateral displacement and excess pore water pressure increases. When the number of pile increases, the lateral displacement () and the excess pore water pressure also increases, Increased lateral displacement between the phase of the addition of the pile (Δ) at the point of being approached increasing, while Δ at the point of diminishing abandoned. Pile installation simulation results based on data of project SL for the installation 9 pile, providing lateral displacement of the ground at the point of IN-01 by 22 mm and the excess pore water pressure at the point of IN-01 at depth of 3 m by 6 kPa.
