Abstract

Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI)adalah penurunan
kualitas material yang terjadi di antara material logam dengan material insulasi. Salah satu cara untuk mencegah terjadinya CUI dengan inorganic zinc coating. Namun
inorganic zinc pada temperatur 60oC akan mengalami korosi galvanik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi temperatur fluida dalam pi
pa dan jenis lingkungan luar terhadap karakteristik CUI
pada baja ASTM A53 Grade-B berbahan insulasi silica aerogel dan alumunium foil serta menggunakan coating PTFE.
Spesimen akan diuji pada temperature fluida dalam sebesar
50oC, 60oC dan 70oC. Dengan jenis lingkungan luar berupa variasi kandungan klorin (Cl-). Spesimen diuji selama 14 hari dengan metode immerse. Dari uji mikroskop optik diketahui bahwa seiring dengan kenaikan temperatur fluida dalam akan meningkatkan kerusakan pada coating PTFE.
Pengujian SEM menunjukkan bahwa jenis korosi yang terjadi adalah jenis uniform corrosion. Hasil

Dari hasil weight loss
didapatkan bahwa laju korosi
tertinggi adalah spesimen pada

adalah spesimen pada temperatur 50

C dan pada lingkungan 0
ppm NaC
