Abstract

Bangunan gedung memiliki peran penting dalam menunjang kehidupan manusia. Gedung sekolah adalah salah satu bangunan yang memiliki peran penting dalam proses pendidikan generasi muda penerus bangsa. Seperti halnya kota-kota besar lain di Indonesia, jumlah bangunan sekolah di Surabaya cukup banyak. Mengingat bahwa gedung merupakan proyek yang memiliki daur hidup panjang, maka penting sekali agar bangunan ini memenuhi konsep sustainability (keberlanjutan) agar dapat memberikan manfaat sebesar-besarnya kepada masyarakat. Aspek keberlanjutan sosial adalah hal yang juga sangat penting di samping dua komponen sustainability, yaitu ekonomi dan lingkungan. Aspek ini erat kaitannya dengan kepentingan masyarakat agar sebuah proyek tidak hanya bermanfaat secara jangka pendek, tapi juga jangka panjang.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kriteria-kriteria yang penting bagi keberlanjutan sosial bangunan gedung Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri di Surabaya. Proses pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menyebar kuesioner terkait variabel yang disusun oleh peneliti kepada stakeholders yang mengetahui bangunan sekolah yang diteliti pada tahap konstruksi dan operasi bangunan gedung. Kemudian dilakukan analisis statistik seperti uji rata-rata, uji ANOVA dan analisis faktor. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan 17 variabel yang relevan untuk mengukur kriteria bangunan sekolah dari aspek keberkelanjutan sosial. Selain itu terdapat perbedaan persepsi diantara stakeholders yang terlibat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis faktor, ke-17 variabel dapat dikategorikan menjadi 4 faktor, yaitu memperhatikan dampak sosial, menjadi bagian dari masyarakat, memelihara tanggung jawab social, dan memenuhi fungsi bangunan. Hasil penelitian diharapkan mampu dijadikan sebagai salah satu refrensi untuk mencapai bangunan berkelanjutan sosial di Surabaya.

Building has an important role in supporting human life. The school building is one of the buildings that has an important role in the educational process of the young generation of the nation. As with other major cities in Indonesia, the number of school buildings in Surabaya is quite large. Considering a building that has a long recycling project, it is very important that this building meets the concept of sustainability in order to provide the greatest benefit to the community. The aspect of social sustainability is also very important in addition to the two components of sustainability, namely economy and environment. This aspect is fully agreed with the interests of the community so that the project benefit is not only short-term, but also in the long-term. This research was conducted to discuss the important criteria for the sustainability of social development in the building of the State High School in Surabaya.
The data collection process in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires related to variables compiled by researchers to stakeholders who studied school buildings which discussed installation and construction of buildings. Then performed statistical analysis such as the average test, ANOVA test and factor analysis. From the results of the study 17 variables were relevant to measure the criteria for school buildings from aspects of social sustainability. In addition there are differences in perceptions between the stakeholders involved. Based on the results of factor analysis, the 17 variables can be categorized into 4 factors, namely considering social, being part of the community, considering social responsibility, and fulfilling building functions. The results of the study are expected to be made as a reference for achieving socially managed buildings in Surabaya.
