Abstract

During this time, air quality in a certain area can not be monitored, then someone who is in the area do not understand about whether the area is polluted and can harm people - people around or not. One of the harmless gases is O2, while one of the harmful gases is CO (Carbon Monoxide) gas, CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) gas, NO, NO2, SO, and SO2 gas. If humans inhale the harmful gas in small amounts it will cause some diseases such as headache, nausea. If human inhalation in large amounts will cause death.
Based on the characteristics of the gas, it will design a device that detects the amount of dangerous gas concentration and can give a warning if the dangerous gas content exceeds the safe threshold for human health. This tool will provide attention to the community through the indicators found on the device. The microcontroller used is Arduino AT-Mega 2560 which has been equipped with the program and has been configured with hardware components such as MQ-135 sensors, MG-811 and MQ-7 which are used to detect O2, CO2 and CO gas and Thermo-couple sensors max 6675 type-k that detects temperature. The sensor will display via LCD and indicator lights.
The results of this Final Project are that the system can monitor gas levels and temperatures where calibration and comparison of measurements have been carried out with an Error percentage of : O2 = 0.035% CO2 = 0.27% CO = 0.28% . The application of tools that have been assembled can be used to monitor the levels of O2, CO2 and CO gas in the factory area and residential areas.
