Abstract

Mesin turbin gas merupakan suatu alat penggerak mula yang digunakan untuk menggerakkan equipment seperti generator, kompresor, propeller dll dengan berbahan bakar gas. Pada penelitian ini mesin turbin gas menggerakkan centrifugal compressor yang berfungsi untuk mendukung proses produksi di Mutiara Central Plant VICO Indonesia. Apabila mesin turbin gas rusak, maka centrifugal compressor tidak dapat berfungsi dengan baik dan mengganggu proses produksi sehingga diperlukan analisa performa centrifugal compressor dan mesin turbin gas agar dapat mempertahankan kelangsungan produksi gas di Mutiara Central Plant. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode analisis Termodinamika. Analisis dimulai dengan dengan menghitung performa centrifugal compressor (driven equipment) lalu menghitung performa mesin turbin gas (driver equipment) yang menjadi kandidat pengganti dari mesin turbin gas yang rusak. Parameter unjuk kerja turbin gas yang menjadi output penelitian adalah thermal efficiency, power output, specific fuel consumption dan heat rate. Dari metode analisis Termodinamika ini dapat ditentukan kandidat pengganti mesin turbin gas yang rusak, yaitu mesin turbin gas C-5400

Gas Turbine Engine is a prime mover which used to drive equipments such as generator, compressor, propeller, etc fueled by gas. In this research, gas turbine engine drives centrifugal compressor which serves to support the production process in Mutiara Central Plant VICO Indonesia. If the gas turbine engine is damaged, the centrifugal compressor can’t work properly and interfere the production process so that the performance analysis of centrifugal compressor and gas turbine engine is required in order to maintain the continuity of gas production in Mutiara Central Plant. This research is conducted by the analysis method of Thermodinamics. The analysis begins with calculate the performance of centrifugal compressor (driven equipment) then calculate the performance of gas turbine engine (driver equipment) which become the substitute candidate of the damaged gas turbine engine. Performance parameters of gas turbine which turns into the research output are thermal efficiency, power output, spesific fuel consumption and heat rate. Based on analysis method of Thermodynamics, the substitute candidate of the damaged gas turbine engine could be determined, which is gas turbine engine C-5400.
