Abstract

Penggunaan obat kedaluarsa sebagai inhibitor korosi berkembang pesat karena dinilai menguntungkan dari segi ekonomi. Salah satunya pada industri minyak dan gas yang sebagian besar masih menggunakan logam sehingga dipilih baja ASTM A106 Grade B yang merupakan baja untuk industri minyak dan gas.. Obat yang paling potensial digunakan adalah antibiotik dan salah satunya yaitu antibiotik jenis thiamphenicol sehingga dilakukan penelitian terhadap thiamphenicol sebagai inhibitor korosi dalam media HCl pH 4 pada baja ASTM A106 Grade B dengan variabel kosentrasi sebesar 0, 200, 400, 600, dan 800 ppm serta dengan waktu perendaman 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, dan 10 hari. Dari hasil FTIR dianalisis bahwa thiampheicol expired mempunyai gugus fungsi yang lengkap. Sedangkan hasil uji polarisasi baja ASTM A106 Grade B dengan inhibitor thiamphenicol non-expired yaitu 0,79x10-2 mmpy untuk laju korosi terendah, 91% efisiensi tertinggi, adsorpsi secara fisika serta termasuk inhibitor campuran. sedangkan untuk inhibitor thiamphenicol expired yaitu 1,16x10-2 mmpy untuk laju korosi terendah, 83% efisiensi tertinggi, termasuk ke dalam inhibitor katodik dengan jenis adsorpsi fisika. One of them is in the oil and gas industry which most of them still use metal so ASTM A106 Grade B steel is chosen which is steel for the oil and gas industry. The most potent drug used is antibiotics and one of them is thiamphenicol type antibiotics so that research on thiamphenicol as a corrosion inhibitor in pH 4 HCl media on ASTM A106 Grade B steel with concentration variables of 0, 200, 400, 600, 800 ppm and with immersion time 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 days. From the FTIR, it was analyzed that thiamphenicol expired had a complete functional groups. While the results of ASTM A106 Grade B steel polarization test with non-expired thiamphenicol inhibitors are 0.79x10-2 mmpy for the lowest corrosion rate, 91% highest efficiency, including as cathodic inhibitor with a type of physical adsorption. While for the results of ASTM A106 Grade B steel polarization test with expired thiamphenicol inhibitors namely 1.16x10-2 mmpy for the lowest corrosion rate, 83% highest efficiency, also including as cathodic inhibitor with a type of physical adsorption.
