Abstract
PT. Pertamina RU 5 Balikpapan merupakan perusahaan Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) yang bergerak dalam industri pengolahan minyak, untuk menjaga kontinuitas sistem produksi dibutuhkan suatu sistem koordinasi proteksi yang cepat dan tepat. Pada tanggal 18 juli 2019, terjadi gangguan hubung singkat pada substation 73A di PT Pertamina RU 5 Balikpapan yang mengakibatkan 3 unit mengalami shutdown dikarenakan terjadi kesalahan koordinasi proteksi yang mengakibatkan penurunan tegangan dalam waktu yang singkat (voltage sag ) pada beberapa bus utama (main bus), sehingga motor-motor yang disuplai oleh bus utama tersebut mengalami trip secara tiba tiba dan akhirnya mengganggu proses produksi. Berdasarkan problematika tersebut, maka dibutuhkanlah suatu evaluasi koordinasi proteksi pada sistem tersebut. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan analisa sistem koordinasi proteksi pada kelistrikan PT Pertamina RU 5 Balikpapan di sisi beban, sisi ring bus, dan sisi hubung singkat pada kasus yang terjadi. Hasil koordinasi proteksi ini difokuskan pada gangguan arus lebih, gangguan tanah, dan juga proteksi pada sisi ring bus yang menghubungkan bus-bus utama pada sistem.

PT. Pertamina RU 5 Balikpapan is a Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) company engaged in the oil processing industry, to maintain the continuity of the production system requires a fast and precise protection coordination system. On July 18, 2019, there was a short circuit interruption on the 73A substation at PT Pertamina RU 5 Balikpapan which resulted in 3 units shutdown due to protection coordination errors that resulted in a short voltage drop (voltage sag) on several main buses, so the motorcycles supplied by the main bus trip and eventually disrupt the production process. Based on these problems, an evaluation of the coordination of protection in the system is needed. In this final project, an analysis of the protection coordination system on the PT Pertamina RU 5 Balikpapan electricity system on the load side, the bus ring side, and the short circuit side in the case occurred. The results of this protection coordination are focused on overcurrent disturbance, ground disturbance, and also protection on the side of the ring bus that connects the main buses to the system
