Abstract

Ban bekas kendaraan bermotor yang tidak terpakai di lingkungan semakin meningkat. Masalah ini semakin besar dikarenakan ban bekas tidak dapat terurai dengan mudah apabila hanya dibiarkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan usaha untuk mengubah limbah ban bekas menjadi sesuatu yang lebih berguna, salah satu inovasi yang dapat dilakukan untuk menangani permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan memanfaatkan limbah ban karet kendaraan bermotor dalam campuran aspal. Pada penelitian ini lapisan aspal yang digunakan merupakan laston lapis antara (AC-BC). Adapun material yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah: agregat kasar, agregat halus, aspal pen. 60/70 dan Kadar limbah ban karet yang digunakan adalah 0%; 2%; 4% 6%, 8%, dan 10% dari total berat aspal. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: cek spesifikasi material, menghitung kadar aspal optimum, pengujian penambahan limbah ban karet dan analisis hasil pengujian marshall. Proses pencampuran limbah ban karet ini menggunakan metode kering dengan menambahkan limbah ban karet sewaktu pemanasan agregat serta pastikan agregat dan aspal telah menyatu dengan limbah ban karet. Pembuatan dan pengujian benda uji dilakukan dalam 2 tahap, yakni pembuatan benda uji tanpa tambahan limbah karet ban untuk mendapatkan Kadar Aspal Optimum (KAO) yang selanjutnya digunakan dalam campuran pembuatan benda uji dengan penambahan limbah karet ban. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai Kadar Aspal Optimum sebesar 6,00%. Dari pengujian Marshall yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan nilai stabilitas campuran aspal modifikasi mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dibandingkan campuran aspal normal. Nilai stabilitas meningkat hingga 54% yakni sebesar 2592,45 kg pada kadar karet 10%, sedangkan nilai stabilitas campuran aspal konvensional sebesar 1679,41 kg. Dari pengujian Marshall campuran aspal yang ditambahkan limbah ban karet yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan nilai stabilitas, flow, VIM, VMA dan Marshall Quotient mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dibandingkan campuran aspal konvensional. Namun untuk nilai VFA mengalami penurunan. Penggunaan kadar karet yang semakin tinggi dengan nilai stabilitas yang meningkat, dapat mengurangi penggunaan kadar aspal sehingga campuran modifikasi menjadi lebih ekonomis. ============================================================================================= ============================================================================================= ============================================================================================= Wasted motor vehicle tires that are not used in the environment are increasing. This problem is even greater because used tires cannot be broken down easily if only left. Therefore, efforts are needed to convert used tire waste into something more useful, one of the innovations that can be done to deal with these problems is to utilize motorized rubber waste tires in asphalt mixture. In this study the asphalt layer used is the last-layer intermediate layer (AC-BC). The material used in this study are: coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, asphalt pen. 60/70 and the rubber tire waste content used is 0%; 2%; 4% 6%, 8%, and 10% of the total weight of asphalt The stages in this research are: check the material specifications, calculate the optimum asphalt content, test the addition of rubber tire waste and analyze the results of the Marshall test. The process of mixing rubber tire waste uses the dry method by adding rubber tire waste while heating the aggregate and making sure that the aggregate and asphalt are integrated with the waste tire rubber. The making and testing of specimens are carried out in 2 stages, namely the making of specimens without the addition of tire rubber waste to obtain the Optimum Asphalt Level (KAO) which is then used in a mixture of specimens making with the addition of tire rubber waste. The results of this study indicate that the Optimum Asphalt Content is 6.00%. From the Marshall test that has been done, the stability value of the modified asphalt mixture has increased significantly compared to the normal asphalt mixture. The stability value increased up to 54%, that is 2592.45 kg at 10% rubber content, while the stability value of conventional asphalt mixture was 1679.41 kg. From the Marshall test the asphalt mixture added with rubber tire waste that has been done, obtained the value of stability, flow, VIM, VMA and Marshall Quotient experienced a significant increase compared to conventional asphalt mixture. But for the VFA value has decreased. The use of higher rubber content with an increased stability value can reduce the use of asphalt content so that the modified mixture becomes more economical.
