Abstract
Tumbuhnya populasi dan meningkatnya pendapatan masyarakat kelas menengah
dalam beberapa tahun terakhir ini rupanya menjadi pemicu atas bergesernya pola
konsumsi dari kebutuhan pokok ke gaya hidup, salah satunya adalah travelling.
Travelling semakin menjadi kebutuhan wajib di masyarakat, terutama pada
kalangan menengah atas.
Seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi, kebutuhan anak pun semakin
meningkat, terutama pada usia 0-3 tahun. Desain tas bayi pada umumnya belum
dapat mengakomodir seluruh kebutuhan orang tua dalam 1 tas. Pada usia tersebut,
orang tua yang bepergian bersama anak mereka biasanya membawa 2-3 tas
sekaligus, yaitu: tas untuk pakaian, cooler bag untuk makanan dan tas untuk
barang pribadi orang tua.
Pada perancangan ini penulis mendesain tas bayi berdasarakan kebutuhan orang
tua saat bepergian, seperti tas yang dapat menjaga suhu makanan ataupun
minuman dalam keadaan tetap hangat maupun dingin. Selain itu desain tas dengan
sistem modular dimana setiap modulnya memiliki fungsi yang berbeda dan dapat
digunakan terpisah maupun secara bersamaan.
Metode perancangan dilakukan dengan obervasi langsung dengan produsen tas,
distributor tas bayi, orang tua yang memiliki anak usia 0-3 tahun selain studi
literatur. Pengamatan pada pengguna dilakukan dengan metode deep interview
dan shadowing dengan responden para orang tua yang memiliki anak usia 0-3
tahun. Dari metode tersebut kemudian diolah menjadi sebuah diagram kedekatan
(affintiy diagram) yang diklasifikasikan dan dirangkum sehingga menghasilkan
beberapa fitur yang ditawarkan dalam desain tas bayi.
Hasil dari perancangan adalah 3 serial tas perlengkapan bayi yang disesuaikan
dengan durasi waktu bepergian orang tua, yaitu: On The Go, All Day Acitivity, dan
Weekender sesuai dengan kebutuhan barang bawaan pengguna.

Growing population and the growth of income of the middle class people in recent
years seems to be the trigger on the shifting patterns of consumption of basic
necessities to the lifestyle, one of them is traveling. Travelling is increasingly turn
into a mandatory needs in the community, especially in the upper middle class.
As the technology advances, the daily needs for a children is increasing,
especially for age 0-3 years. A Baby bag design in general haven’t been able to
accommodate all of the parent’s needs in one bag. Parents who bring their 0-3
year-old child while travelling, are often travelling while carrying 2-3 bags at
once, such as: a bag for clothes, cooler bag for food and bags for the personal
belongings of parents.
In this design process, the writer designs changing bags based on parents’s needs
while traveling, such as a bag that can hold the temperature of the food or
beverage in a state of cold or keep it warm. The bags have been developed with a
modular system where each module has a different functions and can be used
separately or simultaneously.
The design method has been done by a direct observation to the manufacturer of
bags, baby bags distributor, and a parents who have a 0-3 year-old children in
addition to the study of literature. Observations on the user has been done with
the method of deep interview and shadowing by the respondent parents who have
0-3 year-old children. The result from the observation is processed into an
adjacency diagram (affintiy diagram), then classified and summarized to produce
some of the features offered in the baby bag design.
The results of the design are three serial changing bags equipment adapted from
the duration of the parents’s journey, namely: On The Go, All Day acitivity, and
Weekender in accordance with the needs of the user luggage.
