Abstract

Sintesis membran komposit kitosan/montmorilonit-
glutaraldehid (CS/MMT-GA) telah dilakukan dengan
menggunakan metode inversi fasa. Pada penelitian ini, kitosan
sebagai matriks polimer, montmorilonit sebagai filler anorganik
dan glutaraldehid sebagai agen pengikat silang. Tujuan penelitian
ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi metanol
(1; 2; 3; 4; 5 M) terhadap daya serap dan permeabilitas metanol
membran komposit kitosan/montmorilonit-glutaraldehid. Hasil
FTIR menunjukkan bahwa membran komposit CS/MMT-GA
telah berhasil disintesis. Modifikasi dengan glutaraldehid
memperbaiki sifat dan kinerja membran komposit. Peningkatan
konsentrasi metanol cenderung menurunkan daya serap dan
permeabilitas metanol. Metanol dengan konsentrasi 5 M
menunjukkan hasil yang paling baik yakni nilai prosentase daya
serap metanol sebesar 47,53% dan permeabilitas metanol sebesar
2,2664 x 10

Synthesis of composite membrane chitosan
/
montmorillonite-glutaraldehyde (CS / MMT-GA) was performed
using the method of phase inversion. In this study, chitosan as the
polymer matrix, montmorillonite as the inorganic filler and
glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent. The purpose of this research
was to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of
methanol (1; 2; 3; 4; 5 M) of the methanol uptake and permeability
of composite membrane chitosan
/ montmorillonite-
glutaraldehyde. FTIR results showed that the composite membrane
CS / MMT-GA has been successfully synthesized. Modifications
with glutaraldehyde improve the properties and performance of the
composite membrane. Increasing concentrations of methanol tends
to decrease the absorption and permeability of methanol. Methanol
with a concentration of 5 M showed the best result that the
percentage of absorption of 47.53% methanol and methanol
permeability of 2.2664 x 10-7 cm
