Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on various fields, one of
which is education. The government closed teaching and learning
activities in classrooms starting from Kindergarten to Higher Education
and changed the direct or face-to-face (conventional) learning system to
an online learning system to break the chain of Covid-19 spread. This
policy applies to all regions in Indonesia, including in Sampang District,
Sampang Regency, East Java. The application of online learning in
Sampang Regency provides many cons for students because it is
considered ineffective and not optimal. Therefore, a study was conducted
that aims to determine what factors affect the effectiveness of online
learning. The data used in this analysis are primary data obtained
through a survey of high school students in Sampang District and the data
obtained were analyzed using binary logistic regression. Based on the
results of the analysis, it was found that the majority of students in the
District felt that online learning was ineffective and the factors that had
a significant influence on the effectiveness of online learning in Sampang
District were gender, ease of operation of the online learning platform
used, and points of understanding of online learning materials.
