Abstract

Agriculture is an important sector to support the survival of mankind. The development of agriculture is the part of integration effort to construct competitiveness and increasing the contribution to the economy and human life. However, The sector is facing a lot of pressures due to issues related to economic development. In most of developed countries, their productivity must be increase to 70% in 2050 to fulfill the increase of the demand. The challenges is take place on the upstream stakeholders in agricultural sector which majority still engaged in conventional agriculture which described as less productive cultivation and low-paid activities. Therefore, the application of organic farming system is intended to support the soil quality without any disruption for long term. There are several concept which developed in accordance to support goals of organic farming system, this final project highlights crop rotation, adjacency plot, and soil quality. The objective of this study is to determine a planning model by implementing a crop rotation system in plantation agriculture by considering adjacency plot and nutrient cycling. The model objective is to maximize the profit by seeking the best what, where and where to plant crop by follow economical limitation. Crop rotation is used in this model to solve the yield shifting problem for a sustainable agriculture. The results shown that the model able to solve the crop planning based on pull supply chain and have the ability to maximize the land utilization despite of the demand in terms of maximizing the profit.
