Abstract
SPAR merupakan bangunan apung dengan struktur utama berbentuk silinder. Dalam perkembangannya SPAR telah mengalami perubahan konsep terutama konsep bentuk lambungnya. Helical strakes pada SPAR memiliki pengaruh dalam mengurangi VIV ( vortex induced vibration). Dalam Tugas Akhir ini, dilakukan study numeris dan ekperimen olah gerak SPAR dilengkapi helical strakes dengan variasi heading gelombang dengan arah gelombang datang yang berbeda ( 0°, 22.5°, 45° ) dan 3 mode gerakan yaitu surge, pitch, heave . Tali tambat berjumlah 4 buah dengan spesifikasi yang sama. Metode numeris dianalisis dengan software ANSYS AQWA. Ekperimen dilakukan di Laboratorium Hidrodinamika FTK ITS. Karakteristik gerak SPAR menghasilkan nilai yang bervariasi pada kondisi tertambat dengan variasi heading 0°, 22.5° dan 45°. Pada surge dan pitch nilai terbesar terjadi pada arah 0 derajat sebesar 1.367 m/m dan 4.276 deg/m. Pada gerakan heave arah datang tidak mempengaruhi tinggi RAO. Tali yang inline dengan arah datang gelombang mengalami nilai RAO tension yang paling besar yaitu 287.907 ton/m. Helical strakes meredam gerakan secara signifikan pada heave dan pitch namun membesar pada surge.

SPAR is floating structure with shaped of main structure is cylinder. In development SPAR has undergone changes of concept in shape of hull. Helical strakes on SPAR has influence in reduce VIV (vortex Induced Vibration). In this final project, is done numerical and experimental study of SPAR motion with helical strakes with variation of heading ( 0°, 22.5°, 45° ) in 3 modes of motion (surge, pitch, heave ). 4 mooring line with same specification. Experimental and numerical study analized by ANSYS AQWA. Experimental study is done in hydrodynamic laboratory FTK ITS. Characteristics of spar motion produced witch variety value in tethered condition with variation of heading ( 0°, 22.5°, 45°). In surge and pitch bigest value of RAO occured in heading 0o amount 1.367 m/m of surge and 4.276 deg/m of pitch. In the heave heading not influence RAO. Mooring lines that inline with heading have bigest RAO tension with value 287.907 ton/m. Helical strakes reduced motion in heave and pitch but increase in surge.
