Abstract

digunakan yaitu sampah plastik HDPE (High Density
Polyethylene), PET (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate), dan PS (Poly
Styrene). Komposisi sampah yang digunakan antara lain: 100:0,
75:25, dan 50:50. Temperatur yang digunakan pada reaktor yaitu
500°C dengan waktu 30 menit. Penelitian dimulai dari persiapan
bahan uji, persiapan reaktor, percobaan pendahuluan, dan
penelitian dengan reaktor pirolisis. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis
sebesar 69,91%. Sedangkan komposisi yang menghasilkan gas
tertinggi yaitu komposisi dengan ranting 25% dan PET 75%
sebesar 71,24% dan komposisi yang menghasilkan wax tertinggi
yaitu komposisi dengan ranting 25% dan PS 75% sebesar
61,36%. =========== In 2012, solid waste generate was 1200 tonnes/day. If the solid
waste problem in Surabaya is not handled properly, it will cause
some problems such as; health, hygiene, and environmental
problems. Therefore, a method reduce of solid waste treatment is
required but does not create new problems. One method of solid
waste treatment had been developed was pyrolysis. The aims of
this study was to determine the influence of composition and
plastic type of the pyrolysis products.
This study used a reactor with 500 g of capacity that was made
from stainless steel. The variables were the type of plastic wastes
and waste compositions. Variable of solid wastes were HDPE
(High Density Polyethylene), PET (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate),
PS (Poly Styrene) and wood. Variable of solid waste composition
were 100: 0, 75:25, and 50:50. The temperature applied in the
reactor was 500°C and operate in 30 minutes. The research was
preparation of test material, preparation of reactor, preliminary
experiments, and research with the pyrolysis reactor. Further,
proximate analysis were conducted for each product results.
Based on the research, the highest gas of 45,40% was produced
from PET, whereas the highest wax of 69,91% was produced
from HDPE. Furthermore, the highest gas of 71,24% and the
highest wax of 61,36% were produced from solid waste
compositions of wood 25% : PET 75% and wood 25% : PET 75%
respectively.
