Abstract
Siswa berkebutuhan khusus terutama disleksia memiliki
kesulitan dalam mengenali dan mengolah huruf sehingga dapat
menyulitkan mereka dalam proses belajar dan berkomunikasi
pada umumnya. Mereka juga mengalami kesulitan untuk
mengingat dalam jangka pendek dan mengingat urutan sehingga
mengakibatkan mereka tidak bisa mengikuti perintah di kelas
dengan baik. Dibutuhkan pembelajaran khusus untuk membantu
meningkatkan kemampuan siswa terutama kemampuan membaca.
Penulis merancang sebuah perangkat lunak bernama
BacaYuk! yang dapat digunakan pada perangkat bergerak untuk
membantu pembelajaran siswa disleksia. Perangkat lunak ini
memiliki ragam aktivitas yang dibagi menjadi tiga kategori, yaitu
kemampuan bahasa, kemampuan matematika, dan kemampuan
khusus. Penulis melakukan pembelajaran terhadap penggunaan
perangkat lunak BacaYuk! pada lima siswa di Sekolah
Berkebutuhan Khusus Adhitama di Surabaya dengan melakukan
evaluasi terhadap kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah
penggunaan perangkat lunak. Penggunaan perangkat lunak
BacaYuk! telah memberikan efek positif terhadap kemampuan
siswa. Selain itu, pendidik dapat menyesuaikan setiap rangkaian
aktivitas yang akan dikerjakan dengan kebutuhan masing-masing
siswa. Pembelajaran ini mengharapkan bahwa setiap skenario aktivitas yang disediakan sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan belajar siswa disleksia
==========================================================================================Students with special needs, especially dyslexia, have
difficulties in recognizing and processing alphabets that affect
their learning and communicating process in general. They have
difficulties in short-term memory and remembering squences;
making it hard for them to follow order and do simple assesment
in a class. They need a special learning to help them improve
their ability, especially reading ability.
The author has designed a software called BacaYuk! that
can be used in a mobile device to help dyslexic student. This
software has many activities that had been catagorized into three,
they are language ability, mathematic ability, and special ability.
We have performed a study on the usage of BacaYuk! software by
five students in Sekolah Berkebutuhan Khusus Adhitama in
Surabaya by evaluating their ability before and after using the
software. The usage of BacaYuk! software has given positive
effects on their ability. Besides, the teacher can personalize the
each activities to match each students needs. This study also
suggest that every activity scenario provided is suitable for
learning purpose with dyslexic students
