Abstract

Pembelajaran merupakan aspek yang penting bagi mahasiswa, tanpa terkecuali mahasiswa teknik sipil. Pembelajaran ini mencangkup berbagai macam kegiatan, mulai dari dasar – dasar teori mengenai infrastruktur dan perhitungan yang dipelajari di bangku perkuliahan termasuk perencanaan bidang struktur, transport, bangunan air, dan geoteknik. Namun, pembelajaran di kuliah saja tidaklah cukup, karena masih banyak sekali aspek dalam dunia perencanaan konstruksi yang tidak dihadapi di bangku perkuliahan. Departemen Teknik Sipil Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember mengadakan kuliah Kerja Praktik dengan tujuan untuk mempelajari ilmu – ilmu seputar pelaksanaan konstruksi yang tidak dipelajari di bangku perkuliahan. Pada kesempatan ini, penulis mendapatkan kesempatan untuk melaksanakan kuliah Kerja Praktik pada Proyek Pembangunan Bendungan Jlantah, yang berlokasi di Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah. Bendungan Jlantah dibangun sebagai rangka mewujudkan bendungan sebagai infrastruktur air. Bendungan Jlantah diharapkan dapat membantu ketersediaan air pada system irigasi lahan pertanian guna meningkatkan swasembada pangan nasional dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Selain berfungsi sebagai penyedia air baku guna pemenuhan kebutuhan irigasi, Bendungan Jlantah juga berfungsi sebagai infrastruktur pengendali banjir. Pembangunan Bendungan Jlantah juga membantu menjalankan Misi Kabupaten Karanganyar, yaitu “Pembangunan Infrastruktur Menyeluruh”. Bendungan Jlantah terdiri dari beberapa bangunan, yaitu bangunan bendungan (main dam), bangunan pengelak, bangunan pelimpah, dan bangunan pengambilan. Namun, pada peninjauan kerja praktek ini hanya meninjau bangunan pelimpah atau spillway. Bangunan pelimpah atau spillway merupakan struktur yang berfungsi sebagai penyedia aliran yand terkendali dari bendungan ke daerah hilir. Spillway berfungsi sebagai bangunan yang mengalirkan air banjir yang masuk ke dalam waduk agar tidak membahayakan keamanan tubuh bendungan.

Learning is an important aspect for students, civil engineering students are no exception. This learning covers a variety of activities, starting from the theoretical foundations of infrastructure and calculations learned in lectures, including structural planning, transport, waterworks, and geotechnical engineering. However, learning in college is not enough, because there are still many aspects in the world of construction planning that are not faced in lectures. The Department of Civil Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology held a practical work class with the aim of learning about construction implementation that was not studied in lectures. On this occasion, the author had the opportunity to carry out a practical work course on the Jlantah Dam Development Project, which is located in Karanganyar, Central Java. The Jlantah dam was built as a framework for realizing the dam as water infrastructure. The Jlantah dam is expected to assist the availability of water in the irrigation system of agricultural land in order to increase national food self-sufficiency and improve people's welfare. In addition to functioning as a provider of raw water to meet irrigation needs, the Jlantah Dam also functions as a flood control infrastructure. The construction of the Jlantah Dam also helps carry out the Mission of Karanganyar Regency, namely “Complete Infrastructure Development”. The Jlantah dam consists of several buildings, namely a dam (main dam), a evasion building, an overflow building, and a collection building. However, in this practical work review, only the spillway is reviewed. Spillway is a structure that serves as a provider of controlled flow from the dam to the downstream area. Spillway functions as a building that drains flood water into the reservoir so as not to endanger the safety of the dam body.
