Abstract

Pada penelitian ini kami mengajukan tentang Pengembangan Game Edukasi Bahasa Jawa Berbasis Role-Playing Game (RPG) Untuk Siswa SD. Bahasa Jawa adalah salah satu bahasa daerah di Indonesia yang banyak digunakan di sebagian besar Pulau Jawa dan merupakan muatan lokal wajib di pembelajaran mulai dari Sekolah Dasar. Seiring berjalannya waktu, banyak anak yang tidak mengerti penggunaan bahasa Jawa. Pembelajaran materi bahasa Jawa dari sekolah saja tidak akan cukup, siswa perlu diberikan dorongan untuk belajar lebih lanjut di rumah. Maka dari itu saya berinisiatif untuk membuat media pembelajaran yang menarik dan akan membuat siswa semangat untuk belajar bahasa Jawa, yaitu dengan membuat game edukasi untuk berlatih berbahasa Jawa. Game edukasi ini akan berisi muatan materi yang dipelajari di jenjang sekolah dasar (SD) yang dibalut dalam bentuk permainan yang interaktif berbasis RPG. Game edukasi ini akan dibuat dengan game engine Unity dan model komputasi Finite-State Machine (FSM) sebagai core loop mechanic game. Game ini juga memiliki kamus bahasa Jawa Krama dan soal-soal kuis yang disimpan dalam database Firebase. Setelah game jadi akan diujicobakan ke siswa SD dengan memberikan soal pre-test dan post-test setelah diujicobakan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata keseluruhan siswa dalam post-test mengalami peningkatan sebesar 14% setelah mencoba memainkan game Jawa Fantasy selama sehari.

In this research, we proposed the development of a Javanese language educational game based on role-playing game (RPG) for elementary school students. Javanese is one of the regional languages in Indonesia which is widely used in most of Java Island and is mandatory local content in learning starting from elementary school. Over time, many children do not understand the use of Javanese. Learning Javanese material from school alone will not be enough, students need to be encouraged to study further at home. Therefore, I took the initiative to create interesting learning media that would motivate students to learn Javanese, namely by making educational games to practice Javanese. This educational game will contain content material learned in elementary school stages wrapped in an interactive RPG-based game. This educational game will be made with game engine Unity and the Finite-State Machine (FSM) workmanship model as core loop mechanic game. This game also has a Javanese Krama dictionary and quiz questions stored in Firebase database. After the finished game will be tested on elementary school students by providing pre-test and post-test questions after being tested. The test results showed that the overall average score of students in post-test increased by 14% after trying to play Jawa Fantasy game for one day.
