Abstract

IPv6 merupakan versi terbaru dari Internet Protocol (IP) yang merupakan bakal pengganti bagi IPv4. IPv6 ini juga biasa disebut dengan IPng (IP next generation). Padajaringan dengan IPv6 terdapat teknologi routing yang terbagi atas 2 keluarga besar yaitu keluarga IGP (Interior Gateway Protocol) dan keluarga EGP (Exterior Gateway Protocol). Salah satu routing IGP yaitu RIP (Routing Information Protocol) dan yang dipakai dalam jaringan IPv6 adalah protokol RlPng (Routing Information Protocol next generation). Pada tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan penelitian pada unjuk kerja IPv6 dengan menggunakan protokol routing RIPng (Routing Information Protocol next generation) dengan menggunakan beberapa PC dengan konfigurasi tertentu sebagai router dan client. Sistem operasi yang digunakan adalah Linux untuk router dan Windows untuk client, lalu akan dilaporkan mengenai analisa unjuk kerja protokol routing RIPng pada jaringan IPv6 mengenai basil dari throughput, delay, jitter, dan packet loss yang timbul pada protokol routing RIPng. Lalu dilakukan percobaan pada routing RIPng mengenai pencarian rute terpendek dalam jaringan secara dinamis ketika jaringan masih dalam kondisi utuh dan pencarian rute altematif secara otomatis jika sewaktu-waktu jalur utama pada jaringan TPv6 tersebut putus/ mati. Berdasarkan hasil perbandingan pengukuran unjuk kerja jaringan IPv6 dengan menggunakan protokol routing RIPng dan jaringan IPv4 dengan menggunakan protokol routing RIP dengan memperhatikan parameter-parameter delay, throughput, jitter, dan packet loss terlihat bahwa jaringan IPv4 mempunyai throughput ratarata lebih besar sebesar 14.81% daripada throughput pada jaringan 1Pv6. Jitter pada jaringan TPv4 mempunyai selisih rata-rata 53.48% lebih kecil daripada jitter pada jaringan TPv6. Selisih rata-rata packet loss TPv6 dan TPv4 adalah 0.077%. Sehingga terlihat bahwa untuk saat ini kinerja IPv4 masih lebih baik daripada 1Pv6

IPv6 is the latest version of Internet Protocol (IP) which is a potential replacement for IPv4. IPv6 is also commonly called IPng (IP next generation). In networks with IPv6, there is routing technology which is divided into 2 large families, namely the IGP (Interior Gateway Protocol) family and the EGP (Exterior Gateway Protocol) family. One of the IGP routings is RIP (Routing Information Protocol) and the one used in IPv6 networks is the RlPng (Routing Information Protocol next generation) protocol. In this final assignment, research will be carried out on IPv6 performance using the RIPng (Routing Information Protocol next generation) routing protocol using several PCs with certain configurations as routers and clients. The operating system used is Linux for the router and Windows for the client, then there will be a report on the analysis of the performance of the RIPng routing protocol on the IPv6 network regarding the results of throughput, delay, jitter and packet loss that arise in the RIPng routing protocol. Then experiments were carried out on RIPng routing regarding dynamically searching for the shortest route in the network when the network was still in intact condition and automatically searching for alternative routes if at any time the main route on the TPv6 network broke/died. Based on the comparison results of measuring the performance of the IPv6 network using the RIPng routing protocol and the IPv4 network using the RIP routing protocol taking into account the parameters of delay, throughput, jitter and packet loss, it can be seen that the IPv4 network has an average throughput of 14.81% greater than the throughput in 1Pv6 network. Jitter on the TPv4 network has an average difference of 53.48% smaller than jitter on the TPv6 network. The difference between the average packet loss of TPv6 and TPv4 is 0.077%. So it can be seen that currently IPv4 performance is still better than 1Pv6
