Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji dampak lingkungan dari pengolahan lumpur tinja di IPLT Keputih menggunakan metode Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Data diperoleh melalui survei lapangan dan dianalisis untuk menilai emisi gas rumah kaca, konsumsi energi, dan penggunaan sumber daya alam. Hasil menunjukkan unit solid separation chamber menyumbang 5315.31 kg CO₂/tahun untuk pemanasan global, unit balancing tank menyumbang 0.044666477 PDF-m2.y untuk eutrofikasi perairan, dan unit sludge drying bed menggunakan energi non-terbarukan sebesar 48954 MJ.

Perbandingan dengan penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam dampak eutrofikasi akuatik dari 0.003409 PDF-m2.y menjadi 0.523010 PDF-m2.y. Namun, ada penurunan dalam emisi gas rumah kaca dari 15,947.847749 kg CO₂/tahun menjadi 14,888.933688 kg CO₂/tahun dan pengurangan penggunaan energi non-terbarukan dari 103,431.0035 MJ menjadi 95,677.83276 MJ. Hal ini menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi proses dan pengurangan dampak lingkungan.

Berdasarkan analisis LCA yang sudah dilakukan, proses pengolahan lumpur tinja di IPLT Keputih menunjukkan kontribusi dampak lingkungan yang signifikan pada beberapa kategori, seperti non-renewable energy, aquatic eutrophication, dan global warming. Untuk aquatic eutrophication, kontribusi dampak yang signifikan terjadi pada balancing tank dengan skor analisis 20,5%, untuk global warming ada pada solid separation chamber dengan 35,4% begitu juga pada dampak non-renewable energy adalah 33,5%.

This study assesses the environmental impacts of septage treatment at the Keputih STP using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method. Data were obtained through field surveys and analyzed to assess greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, and natural resource use. Results show the solid separation chamber unit contributes 5315.31 kg CO₂/year to global warming, the balancing tank unit contributes 0.044666477 PDF-m2.y to water eutrophication, and the sludge drying bed unit uses 48954 MJ of non-renewable energy.

Comparison with previous studies shows a significant increase in aquatic eutrophication impacts from 0.003409 PDF-m2.y to 0.523010 PDF-m2.y. However, there was a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from 15,947.847749 kg CO₂/year to 14,888.933688 kg CO₂/year and a reduction in non-renewable energy use from 103,431.0035 MJ to 95,677.83276 MJ. This suggests improved process efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Based on the LCA analysis that has been conducted, the septage treatment process in Keputih STP shows significant environmental impact contributions in several categories, such as non-renewable energy, aquatic eutrophication, and global warming. For aquatic eutrophication, the significant impact contribution occurs in the balancing tank with an analysis score of 20.5%, for global warming it is in the solid separation chamber with 35.4% as well as the impact of non-renewable energy is 33.5%.
