Abstract

Matematika salah satu pelajaran yang dianggap sulit dipelajari oleh siswa di Indonesia. Matematika mulai ditemukan sulit oleh siswa Indonesia ketika menginjak SMP. Hal ini karena pelajaran matematika mulai menjadi lebih kompleks, salah satunya yaitu pada bab matematika aljabar. Matematika ditemukan sulit oleh siswa Indonesia menyebabkan siswa tidak menyukai matematika. Rendahnya minat siswa Indonesia terhadap matematika ini dapat mempengaruhi daya tangkap siswa dalam mempelajari mata pelajaran tersebut. Sementara itu, matematika aljabar memerlukan pemahaman lebih untuk memahami dasar-dasar aljabar dan pada pembelajaran tersebut berpeluang terjadi miskonsepsi apabila siswa tidak memperhatikan dengan baik akibat kurangnya minat terhadap matematika. Maka dari itu dengan adanya perancangan game ini diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan minat siswa dalam matematika aljabar dan dapat membuat siswa lebih mudah memahami matematika aljabar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur dan eksisting yang diperkuat dengan depth interview pada Dinas Pendidikan Kota Surabaya dan Majelis Dikdasmen dan Pnf Muhammadiyyah terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas 7 SMP terhadap matematika aljabar. Data tersebut kemudian diolah pada studi eksperimental yang menghasilkan konsep berupa game edukasi untuk diujikan melalui wawancara pada ahli sehingga menghasilkan desain final. Perancangan ini akan menghasilkan luaran berupa game edukasi aljabar matematika berbasis website dengan konsep pembelajaran interaktif dan cerita yang menarik sehingga siswa yang memainkan game ini dapat bermain sambil belajar serta meningkatkan tingkat pemahaman serta pengetahuan mereka akan matematika aljabar. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat membantu siswa dalam mengurangi miskonsepsi yang sangat berpeluang terjadi ketika mempelajari aljabar matematika. Dengan begitu siswa dapat memahami aljabar matematika dan menemukan bahwa matematika tidak sesulit yang mereka pikirkan melainkan butuh pemahaman konsep yang lebih.

Mathematics is one of the subjects considered difficult to learn by students in Indonesia. Mathematics begins to be difficult for Indonesian students when they enter junior high school. This is because mathematics lessons begin to become more complex, one of which is in the chapter on algebraic mathematics. Mathematics is found difficult by Indonesian students causing students to dislike mathematics. The low interest of Indonesian students in mathematics can affect students' ability to understand this subject. Meanwhile, algebraic mathematics needs deeper comprehension to understand the basics of algebra and in this learning, there is a chance of misconceptions if students do not pay attention properly due to a lack of interest in mathematics. Therefore, with the design of this game, it is hoped that it can help increase students' interest in algebraic mathematics and make it easier for students to understand algebraic mathematics. The research methods used include literature studies and existing, supplemented by depth interviews at the Surabaya City Education Office and the Muhammadiyah Dikdasmen and Pnf Council regarding the understanding of 7th-grade junior high school students on algebraic mathematics. The data were then processed in an experimental study that resulted in a concept for an educational game, which was tested through interviews with experts to produce a final design. This design will produce an output in the form of a website-based educational game for mathematical algebra, featuring an interactive learning concept and an engaging storyline. This will allow students to play while learning and increase their level of understanding and knowledge of algebraic mathematics. This design is expected to help students reduce misconceptions that are very likely to occur when studying mathematical algebra. In this way, students can understand mathematical algebra and find that mathematics is not as difficult as they think but requires a deeper understanding of its concepts.
