Abstract

Kegiatan magang industri ini dilaksanakan di PT. Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, Pabrik Tuban, selama periode 2 Januari hingga 30 April 2024. Laporan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengoptimalkan penggunaan pelumas pada bearing roller di sistem Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) pada area Finish Mill. Sistem pelumasan memiliki peranan krusial dalam menjaga performa, keandalan, dan umur pakai komponen-komponen mekanik, terutama pada mesin-mesin berputar dengan beban berat seperti VRM. Dalam kegiatan ini, penulis terlibat langsung dalam proses identifikasi pelumas eksisting, pemantauan parameter teknis lapangan seperti suhu, tekanan, dan viskositas pelumas, serta proses evaluasi berdasarkan kurva pelumasan (Streibeck Curve) dan nilai kappa.
Studi kasus difokuskan pada pelumas Castrol Alphasyn EP 320 yang digunakan pada Main Roller Finish Mill. Kemudian dilakukan analisis perbandingan performa dengan pelumas alternatif yaitu Pertamina Masri FLG 320 dan Pertamina Masri RG 320. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengukuran data aktual di lapangan serta studi literatur teknis dari data sheet masing-masing pelumas dan standar SKF. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pelumas alternatif dari Pertamina memiliki kinerja pelumasan yang mampu memenuhi standar operasi dengan nilai kappa yang masih dalam rentang pelumasan campuran (mixed lubrication), serta memiliki keuntungan dari sisi efisiensi biaya dan ketersediaan lokal. Oleh karena itu, pelumas Pertamina Masri RG 320 direkomendasikan sebagai substitusi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan operasional perusahaan.
Kegiatan magang ini memberikan pengalaman berharga dalam menerapkan ilmu teknik mesin secara langsung di dunia industri, khususnya dalam aspek maintenance dan tribologi pelumas. Selain itu, magang ini juga menjadi sarana pengembangan soft skill seperti komunikasi teknis, pemecahan masalah, serta pembelajaran lintas divisi di lingkungan kerja nyata. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa tidak hanya memahami aspek teknis pemeliharaan mesin, tetapi juga mampu memberikan kontribusi nyata melalui saran perbaikan teknis yang berbasis data dan analisis. Diharapkan hasil dari kegiatan magang ini dapat menjadi referensi pengembangan sistem pelumasan yang lebih efisien dan berkelanjutan di lingkungan industri manufaktur semen.

This industrial internship activity was carried out at PT. Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk, Tuban Factory, during the period of January 2 to April 30, 2024. This report aims to analyze and optimize the use of lubricants in roller bearings in the Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) system in the Finish Mill area. The lubrication system plays a crucial role in maintaining the performance, noise, and service life of mechanical components, especially in machines that rotate with heavy loads such as VRM. In this activity, the author was directly involved in the lubrication process of existing lubricants, monitoring technical parameters in the field such as temperature, pressure, and viscosity of the lubricant, as well as the evaluation process based on the lubrication curve (Streibeck Curve) and kappa value. The case study focuses on the Castrol Alphasyn EP 320 lubricant used in the Main Roller Finish Mill. Then a comparative performance analysis was carried out with Pertamina's alternative lubricants, namely Masri FLG 320 and Pertamina Masri RG 320. The evaluation was carried out through measuring actual data in the field as well as studying technical literature from the data sheets of each lubricant and SKF standards. The results of the analysis show that alternative lubricants from Pertamina have lubrication performance that is able to meet operating standards with kappa values that are still within the range of mixed lubrication, and have advantages in terms of cost efficiency and local availability. Therefore, Pertamina Masri RG 320 lubricant is recommended as a replacement to improve efficiency and stop the company's operations. This internship activity provides valuable experience in applying mechanical engineering knowledge directly in the industrial world, especially in the aspects of maintenance and lubricant tribology. In addition, this internship is also a means of developing soft skills such as technical communication, problem solving, and cross-divisional learning in a real work environment. Through this activity, students not only understand the technical aspects of machine maintenance, but are also able to make real contributions through technical improvement suggestions based on data and analysis. It is hoped that the results of this internship activity can be a reference for the development of a more efficient and sustainable lubrication system in the cement manufacturing industry.
