Abstract

Kualitas air yang didistribusikan oleh PDAM harus memenuhi standar baku mutu demi menjaga kesehatan masyarakat. Parameter seperti kekeruhan (turbidity), pH, dan sisa chlor (Cl₂) dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor eksternal seperti limbah domestik, industri, dan pertanian, yang menyebabkan fluktuasi kualitas air. Untuk itu, diperlukan sistem pengendalian kualitas yang mampu mendeteksi perubahan parameter secara cepat dan akurat. Penelitian ini membandingkan efektivitas dua metode pengendalian kualitas multivariat, yaitu Mixed Multivariate Exponentially Weighted Moving Average–Cumulative Sum (MEC) dan T² Hotelling, dalam memantau kualitas air PDAM Delta Tirta Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Perbandingan dilakukan berdasarkan titik pertama yang keluar batas kendali (out of control) sebagai early detection dan jumlah titik out of control yang terdeteksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peta kendali MEC1 dan MEC2 dengan pembobot \lambda=0,5 mampu mendeteksi titik tidak terkendali paling banyak, sehingga pembobot ini dianggap sebagai yang paling optimum. Banyaknya titik tidak terkendali ini mengindikasikan adanya ketidakstabilan dalam proses produksi air. Meskipun peta kendali T² Hotelling juga mengidentifikasi kondisi tidak terkendali, metode MEC terbukti lebih sensitif dalam mendeteksi pergeseran kecil, menjadikannya alat yang lebih efektif untuk deteksi dini terhadap masalah kualitas air. Analisis kapabilitas proses juga menunjukkan bahwa proses produksi air umumnya memenuhi spesifikasi yang ditetapkan, dengan nilai kapabilitas multivariat MPₚ dan MPₚₖ masing-masing sebesar 4,63 dan 3,24 pada musim hujan, serta 4,75 dan 3,10 pada musim kemarau. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemantauan yang ketat menggunakan metode yang lebih sensitif, seperti MEC, untuk memastikan kualitas air yang konsisten.

The quality of water distributed by PDAM must comply with established quality standards to protect public health. Parameters such as turbidity, pH, and residual chlorine (Cl₂) can be influenced by various external factors, including domestic, industrial, and agricultural waste, which cause fluctuations in water quality. Therefore, a quality control system that can detect parameter changes quickly and accurately is essential. This study compares the effectiveness of two multivariate quality control methods, Mixed Multivariate Exponentially Weighted Moving Average–Cumulative Sum (MEC) and Hotelling's T², in monitoring the water quality of PDAM Delta Tirta in Sidoarjo Regency. The comparison is based on the first point that exceeds the control limit as an indicator of early detection and the total number of out of control points detected. The results show that MEC1 and MEC2 control charts with a weighting factor of \lambda\ =\ 0.5 detected the highest number of out of control points, indicating this weighting as the most optimal. The high number of out of control points indicates instability in the water production process. Although the Hotelling's T² control chart also identified out of control conditions, the MEC method proved to be more sensitive to small shifts, making it a more effective tool for early detection of water quality issues. Process capability analysis also shows that the water production process generally meets the required specifications, with multivariate capability values MP_P and MP_{pk} of 4.63 and 3.24 in the rainy season, and 4.75 and 3.10 in the dry season. These findings emphasize the importance of strict monitoring using more sensitive methods such as MEC to ensure consistent water quality.
