Abstract

PT X adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang beroperasi di berbagai sektor, salah satunya adalah produksi komponen Gear Case Timing. Gear Case Timing berperan sebagai komponen vital dalam industri otomotif yang berfungsi untuk menjaga sinkronisasi antara gerakan piston dan katup pada mesin. Kinerja dan keandalan Gear Case Timing sangat bergantung pada kualitasnya, yang dipengaruhi oleh proses produksi presisi tinggi dan kontrol kualitas yang ketat. Evaluasi pengendalian kualitas proses produksi Gear Case Timing dilakukan dengan pendekatan multivariat menggunakan diagram kendali MEWMV dan MEWMA. Tiga karakteristik kualitas yang dianalisis adalah flatness, parallelism, dan concentricity. Diagram kendali MEWMV digunakan untuk memantau variabilitas proses dengan pembobot ω = 0,1 dan λ = 0,1, sedangkan diagram MEWMA digunakan untuk memantau rata-rata proses dengan pembobot optimum λ = 0,4. Hasil analisis pada fase I menunjukkan kondisi belum terkendali secara statistik dan memerlukan iterasi pengeluaran titik out of control untuk mencapai kestabilan. Setelah perbaikan berhasil dilakukan dan fase I berhasil mencapai proses yang terkendali secara statistik, dilanjutkan analisis pada fase II di mana proses berada dalam batas yang terkendali secara statistik. Identifikasi penyebab utama ketidakterkendalian mengarah pada karakteristik parallelism dan concentricity yang secara geometris sangat berpengaruh terhadap kestabilan produk. Analisis kapabilitas proses secara univariat menunjukkan bahwa flatness dan parallelism memiliki presisi dan akurasi yang baik, sementara concentricity menjadi titik kritis kualitas. Secara multivariat, nilai indeks kapabilitas proses diperoleh MCₚ = 1,96 dan MCₚₖ = 1,29, yang berarti proses belum sepenuhnya kapabel menurut standar perusahaan (MCₚₖ > 1,33) karena akurasi proses masih perlu ditingkatkan.

Gear Case Timing serves as a critical component in the automotive industry, ensuring synchronization between piston movement and valve operation within an engine. The performance and reliability of Gear Case Timing heavily depend on its quality, which is influenced by high-precision manufacturing processes and stringent quality control measures. The quality control of Gear Case Timing production is evaluated using a multivariate approach through MEWMV and MEWMA control charts. Three quality characteristics are analyzed: flatness, parallelism, and concentricity. The MEWMV chart monitors process variability with weighting factors ω = 0.1 and λ = 0.1, while the MEWMA chart monitors process mean with the optimal λ = 0.4. Phase I results indicate a statistically unstable process, requiring iterative removal of out-of-control points to achieve stability. After adjustment, the Phase II process falls within the control limits. The main contributors to instability are identified as parallelism and concentricity, which critically affect the geometric consistency of the product. Univariate capability analysis shows that flatness and parallelism meet the required precision and accuracy, while concentricity emerges as the weakest link. The multivariate process capability indices are MCₚ = 1.96 and MCₚₖ = 1.29, indicating that the process does not yet fully meet the company's capability standard (MCₚₖ > 1.33) due to the need for improved process accuracy.
