Abstract

Magang industri merupakan bagian penting dalam kurikulum pendidikan vokasi untuk menjembatani mahasiswa dengan dunia industri secara langsung. Laporan ini disusun sebagai hasil pelaksanaan magang industri yang dilaksanakan di PT. Petro Jordan Abadi, khususnya pada unit Cooling Tower Phosphoric Acid Plant. Fokus utama kegiatan magang adalah pada proses pemeliharaan (maintenance) vacuum pump 2604 yang berperan penting dalam sirkulasi dan pendinginan asam fosfat hasil produksi.PT. Petro Jordan Abadi merupakan perusahaan patungan antara PT. Petrokimia Gresik dan Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) yang bergerak dalam produksi bahan baku pupuk, terutama asam fosfat. Perusahaan ini memiliki beberapa unit produksi yang saling terintegrasi, di antaranya Sulphuric Acid Plant, Phosphoric Acid Plant, dan Purification Plant. Unit Cooling Tower sendiri berfungsi sebagai penunjang sistem pendingin dalam proses konsentrasi asam fosfat sebelum disimpan atau dikirim ke konsumen utama. Dalam pelaksanaan magang, dilakukan observasi langsung terhadap sistem kerja pompa vakum, identifikasi komponen-komponen utama pompa, serta prosedur pemeliharaan preventif dan korektif. Komponen penting dari vacuum pump 2604 meliputi impeller, casing, mechanical seal, dan sistem pelumasan. Penanganan rutin seperti pemeriksaan oli pelumas, pengecekan getaran, dan penggantian seal dilakukan untuk menjaga kinerja optimal pompa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pemeliharaan mengikuti standar perusahaan yang mengacu pada prinsip predictive maintenance dan condition-based monitoring.

Industrial internship is an essential component of vocational education curricula, serving as a bridge between students and the professional industrial environment. This report is the result of an internship conducted at PT. Petro Jordan Abadi, specifically within the Cooling Tower unit of the Phosphoric Acid Plant. The primary focus of the internship was the maintenance process of vacuum pump 2604, which plays a crucial role in the circulation and cooling of phosphoric acid during production.PT. Petro Jordan Abadi is a joint venture between PT. Petrokimia Gresik and the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), specializing in the production of raw materials for fertilizers, particularly phosphoric acid. The company operates several integrated production units, including the Sulphuric Acid Plant, Phosphoric Acid Plant, and Purification Plant. The Cooling Tower unit serves as a critical component in the cooling system during the acid concentration process prior to storage or distribution to primary consumers.During the internship, direct observations were conducted on the operational system of the vacuum pump, identification of its main components, and the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures. Key components of vacuum pump 2604 include the impeller, casing, mechanical seal, and lubrication system. Routine tasks such as oil inspection, vibration monitoring, and seal replacement were carried out to maintain optimal pump performance. The maintenance methods applied are based on company standards that follow the principles of predictive maintenance and condition-based monitoring.
