Abstract
PLTS (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya) on-grid 3,5 kWp di Departemen Teknik Instrumentasi sering mengalami penurunan efisiensi akibat akumulasi debu dan kotoran pada panel surya. Pada penelitian sebelumnya yang menggunakan robot pembersih PLTS dengan berbasis PLC Omron CP1E dirasa kurang efektif dikarenakan dalam penerapannya masih menggunakan kabel untuk transfer data dan daya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem pembersihan otomatis berbasis wireless dengan memanfaatkan protocol ESP-NOW sebagai solusi pemeliharaan preventif. Sistem ini terdiri dari PLC Siemens S7-1200 yang terintegrasi dengan modul ESP32 untuk komunikasi master-slave, serta motor DC sebagai penggerak wiper pembersih. Protokol ESP-NOW dipilih karena keunggulannya dalam komunikasi nirkabel berdaya rendah dan latensi rendah. Metodologi penelitian meliputi perancangan perangkat keras dan lunak, implementasi sistem, serta pengujian performa. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem komunikasi ESP-NOW mampu bekerja secara stabil hingga jarak 30 meter tanpa penghalang, dengan latensi rata-rata 1– 3 ms dan waktu respon dua arah (round trip) kurang dari 3 ms. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa ESP-NOW dapat digunakan sebagai solusi komunikasi nirkabel yang andal untuk sistem robotic berbasis mikrokontroler. Sistem ini memungkinkan operasi jarak jauh, meningkatkan fleksibilitas dan keandalan dalam pemeliharaan panel surya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam optimalisasi energi terbarukan melalui teknologi pemeliharaan preventif berbasis robotik.================================================================================================================
The on-grid 3.5 kWp solar power plant at the Department of Instrumentation Engineering often experiences efficiency degradation due to the accumulation of dust and dirt on the solar panels. In previous research, a solar panel cleaning robot using a Omron CP1E was considered less effective due to the use of wired connections for data and power transfer. This study aims to develop a wireless-based automatic cleaning system by utilizing the ESP-NOW protocol as a preventive maintenance solution. The system consists of a Siemens S7-1200 PLC integrated with ESP32 modules for master-slave communication, and DC motors to drive the cleaning wipers. ESP-NOW was selected for its advantages in low-power and low-latency wireless communication. The research methodology includes hardware and software design, system implementation, and performance testing. Test results show that the ESP-NOW communication system operates stably up to 30 meters without obstacles, with an average latency of 1–3 ms and a round-trip response time of less than 3 ms. These results demonstrate that ESP-NOW is a reliable wireless communication solution for microcontroller-based robotic systems. This system enables remote operation, enhancing flexibility and reliability in solar panel maintenance. This research is expected to contribute to renewable energy optimization through robotic-based preventive maintenance technology.
