Abstract
Simulasi kebakaran merupakan metode penting dalam pelatihan kesiapsiagaan menghadapi keadaan darurat. Namun, metode konvensional seperti pemutaran video sering kali tidak mampu memberikan pengalaman yang mendalam dan realistis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji efektivitas media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai alternatif dalam simulasi kebakaran di lingkungan sekolah. AR memungkinkan pengguna merasakan pengalaman yang lebih imersif dan interaktif, sehingga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman lingkungan, kepercayaan diri, dan motivasi intrinsik siswa dalam menghadapi situasi darurat. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen antar-subjek dengan membandingkan dua metode pelatihan, yaitu AR dan video konvensional. Responden penelitian berjumlah 40 siswa kelas XI dari SMKN 4 Tanjungpinang yang dibagi secara merata ke dalam dua kelompok. Pengukuran dilakukan melalui pre-test, post-test, dan retensi menggunakan skala Likert dan sensor fisiologis (Muse headband). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berbasis AR secara signifikan lebih efektif dibanding video dalam meningkatkan self-efficacy dan knowledge, dengan hasil retensi yang lebih stabil. Sementara itu, intrinsic motivation menunjukkan perbedaan yang tidak signifikan antar kedua media, namun skor rata-rata tetap lebih tinggi pada kelompok AR. Evaluasi tambahan seperti persepsi terhadap efektivitas rekomendasi, beban tugas, serta persepsi realisme dan kemudahan penggunaan sistem menunjukkan bahwa media AR lebih unggul secara keseluruhan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa AR memiliki potensi besar sebagai media pelatihan keselamatan kebakaran di sekolah. Implementasi AR yang menggabungkan pendekatan markerless, navigasi berbasis LIDAR, dan desain interaktif terbukti mampu menciptakan simulasi pelatihan yang realistis, efisien, dan lebih disukai oleh peserta.

Fire simulation is an essential method in emergency preparedness training. However, conventional methods such as video playback often fail to provide a deep and realistic experience. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media as an alternative approach to fire simulation in school settings. AR enables users to experience more immersive and interactive scenarios, which is expected to enhance environmental understanding, self-efficacy, and intrinsic motivation when facing emergency situations. This study applied a between-subject experimental design by comparing two training methods: AR and conventional video. A total of 40 eleventh-grade students from SMKN 4 Tanjungpinang participated and were equally divided into two groups. Measurements were conducted using pre-tests, post-tests, and retention tests, employing Likert-scale questionnaires and physiological sensors (Muse headband). The analysis revealed that AR-based training was significantly more effective than video in improving self-efficacy and knowledge, with more stable retention outcomes. Although intrinsic motivation did not differ significantly between the groups, the average score remained higher in the AR group. Additional evaluations—such as perceptions of recommendation effectiveness, task load, realism, and system usability—also indicated a clear preference for AR-based training. These findings highlight the strong potential of AR as an effective medium for fire safety training in schools. The implementation of markerless AR with LIDAR-based navigation and interactive design has proven to create a realistic, efficient, and user-preferred training experience.
