Abstract

Pakan merupakan komponen biaya terbesar dalam budidaya ikan gurame (Osphronemus goramy), sehingga produksi pakan mandiri menjadi solusi untuk menekan biaya operasional. Tantangan utama adalah kebutuhan ukuran pelet yang berbeda di setiap fase pertumbuhan ikan, yaitu fase benih, remaja, dan dewasa, sebagaimana diidentifikasi melalui wawancara langsung dengan mitra Bapak Sumitro di Desa Gendingan yang sebelumnya membuat pelet secara manual dengan hasil yang tidak seragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun mesin pencetak pelet dengan sistem die modular yang mampu memproduksi tiga variasi ukuran diameter pelet fase benih (1≤D<2 mm), remaja (2≤D<3 mm), dan dewasa (3≤D≤4 mm) dalam satu unit mesin. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi perancangan desain menggunakan SolidWorks, perhitungan elemen mesin secara teoritis, fabrikasi komponen, serta pengujian fungsional dan keseragaman produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mesin mampu beroperasi dengan kapasitas rata-rata 27,02 kg/jam (Ø2mm = 20,08 kg/jam; Ø3mm = 25,50 kg/jam; Ø4mm = 35,40 kg/jam), melampaui target perancangan 18 kg/jam dan memenuhi kebutuhan minimal mitra 15 kg/jam. Uji keseragaman diameter pelet menghasilkan rata-rata 1,9 mm, 2,9 mm, dan 3,9 mm untuk masing-masing variasi die, seluruhnya masuk dalam rentang target. Penggantian die modular dapat dilakukan dalam waktu rata-rata 30–45 detik tanpa membongkar barrel. Poros utama SS 304 berdiameter 28 mm dinyatakan aman dengan tegangan geser aktual 35,33 MPa di bawah tegangan izin 79,49 MPa (SF = 2,25). Total biaya produksi satu unit mesin sebesar Rp 4.410.000,00, lebih kompetitif dibandingkan mesin komersial sejenis yang berkisar Rp 5.500.000 - Rp 7.500.000.

Feed represents the largest cost component in gouramy (Osphronemus goramy) aquaculture, making independent feed production a key solution for reducing operational costs. The primary challenge lies in producing pellets of varying sizes to accommodate each fish growth phase seed, juvenile, and adult as identified through direct interviews with partner Mr. Sumitro in Gendingan Village, who previously produced pellets manually with inconsistent results. This research aims to design and build a fish feed pellet machine with a modular die system capable of producing three pellet diameter variations seed phase (1≤D<2 mm), juvenile (2≤D<3 mm), and adult phase (3≤D≤4 mm) within a single unit. The methodology includes design development using SolidWorks CAD software, theoretical machine element calculations, component fabrication, and functional and uniformity testing. Results show the machine operates at an average capacity of 27.02 kg/hour (Ø2mm = 20.08 kg/hour; Ø3mm = 25.50 kg/hour; Ø4mm = 35.40 kg/hour), exceeding the design target of 18 kg/hour and meeting the partner's minimum requirement of 15 kg/hour. Pellet diameter uniformity tests yielded averages of 1.9 mm, 2.9 mm, and 3.9 mm for each die variant, all within target ranges. Die replacement was completed in an average of 30–45 seconds without disassembling the barrel. The main shaft of SS 304 with 28 mm diameter was verified safe with an actual shear stress of 35.33 MPa below the allowable stress of 79.49 MPa (SF = 2.25). Total production cost per unit is Rp 4,410,000, more competitive than comparable commercial machines priced at Rp 5,500,000 - Rp 7,500,000.
