Abstract

The country of Indonesia is geographically located within the tectonic belt of earthquakes and volcanoes that is known as the Ring of Fire that causes frequent earthquakes that can potentially cause significant amount of damage, which makes it important to prepare the general public to face against such natural disaster.
RPG Maker is a game development tool for the role-playing genre that uses a block-based programming which software development knowledge requirement but without losing out in terms of capability against other game development tools. Combined with it's assortment of game development assets that is provided, RPG Maker can ensure a fast and simple game development workflow.
Using the Incremental Model, the writer designs software in small bits called increment. With the use of this software development model, it is hoped that a redesign in the middle of development that may waste significant amount of time can be avoided.
This thesis wil build a game that will simulate the conditions of an earthquake and the subsequent evacuation effort that follows in the perspective of a natural disaster victim with the goal of educating and preparing the user of this application to be able to handle themselves in the event of an earthquake.
The result of the implementation of designing an earthquake survival is capable of raising the understanding of it's user in facing against an earthquake and a housefire that follows before, during and aftar the aforementioned disaster has occured.
