Abstract

Bahan bakar cair dari limbah plastik polipropilena (PP) dengan ko-reaktan biodiesel minyak jelantah telah berhasil dibuat. Bahan bakar cair diproduksi menggunakan metode perengkahan katalitik dimana variasi yang digunakan dari plastik 100% hingga 40% sebagai reaktan dan biodiesel minyak jelantah sebagai ko-reaktan. Katalis yang digunakan berupa Al-MCM-41 : Keramik busi (7:3) yang dikarakterisasi dengan XRD, SEM, Adsorpsi-desorpsi N2, FTIR-Piridin, dan hasil perengkahan diteliti menggunakan Kromatografi Gas-Spektroskopi Massa (MC-MS). Bahan bakar cair yang diperoleh, dicampur dengan Premium dan MTBE dengan variasi volume (10% : 90% dari bahan bakar cair : Premium, 2,5% penambahan MTBE). Performa campuran bahan bakar cair yang diperoleh, dianalisis menggunakan mesin gasolin. Karakteristik fisik berupa densitas, titik nyala dan nilai kalor dari bahan bakar cair sebelum dan sesudah penambahan Premium dan MTBE juga diteliti. Campuran bahan bakar cair dengan variasi CB50 memiliki % efisiensi termal yang optimal sebesar 27,42% pada mesin. Dengan penambahan MTBE dapat meningkatkan karakteristik fisik dari bahan bakar cair. Karakteristik bahan bakar cair yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan standar gasolin komersial.
============================================================= Liquid fuel from Polypropylene (PP) waste plastic and the co-reactant of waste cooking oil has been succesfully made. Liquid fuels are produced using a catalytic cracking method where variations are used from 100% to 40% plastic as reactants and biodiesel of cooking oil as co-reactants. The catalysts used were Al-MCM-41: Ceramics (7: 3) characterized by XRD, SEM, N 2 adsorption, FTIR-Pyridine, and cracking results were investigated using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (MC-MS). Liquid fuel obtained, mixed with Premium and MTBE with volume variation (10%: 90% of liquid fuel: Premium, 2.5% addition MTBE). Performance of the liquid fuel mixture obtained, analyzed using Generator Set (GenSet) engine with gasoline-based fuel. Physical characteristics of density, flash point and calorific value of liquid fuels before and after the addition of RON 88 and MTBE Premiums were also investigated. The liquid fuel mixture with the CB50 variation has an optimum thermal efficiency of 27.42% on the machine. With the addition of MTBE can improve the physical characteristics of liquid fuels. Characteristics of liquid fuels produced in accordance with commercial gasoline standards.
