Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest archipelago country with the largest population in the world 4th. Labor is one of the important factors in the success of negara. Although high economic growth rates, job types that predominate in Indonesia is still informal (61.6% in 2001 and 59% in 2010). Within a few years the participation of women workers in Indonesia increased, but the ratio of female workers remained been below the ratio of male workers. In the province of Papua, the number of female job seekers amounts up and down from year to year, the year 2010 amounted to 9654 people, 2011 of 2,356 inhabitants and in 2012 rose to 4,162 inhabitants. It is known that in this study the predictor variables are categorical and continuous with the response variable has two categories, then the appropriate method in this study is a binary logistic regression analysis. So that showed that of the five variables were analyzed only prdiktor age, recent education and the number of dependents of households that affect the status of housewives working in Papua province. Binary logistic regression model obtained which is g (x) = - 1.079 to 0.025 X1 - 1,845 X2 (1) + 0,142 X2 (2) + 1.111 X2 (3) + 1,194 X2 (4) + 0.321 X5. The model has been appropriate and predictor variables entered into the model can explain the diversity of 32.6% with a classification accuracy of 74%.
