Abstract
PT.XYZ merupakan pabrik pemanis yang memproduksi sorbitol syrup dan maltitol syrup yang dihasilkan melalui beberapa tahapan proses. Hampir setiap minggu customer melakukan perubahan permintaan sehingga fluktuasi permintaan
setiap hari nya cukup tinggi. Selain itu permintaan polyols terus mengalami peningkatan, sedangkan saat ini kemampuan proses produksi lini polyols tidak mampu memenuhi permintaan tersebut sehingga muncul back order setiap bulannya. Hal tersebut menuntut perusahaan agar mampu mengelola sistem produksinya secara kontinyu, efektif dan efisien dengan implementasi lean six
sigma dalam mengidentifikasi defect dan waste, memperbaiki defect dan mengurangi waste untuk meningkatkan total output produksi.
Identifikasi terhadap waste dilakukan dengan menyusun current state value stream mapping. Sedangkan identifikasi terhadap defect dilakukan dengan bantuan
capability and stability analysis terhadap proses -proses yang kritikal di produksi polyols. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan menggunakan cause effect diagram,
5 whys dan pareto diagram sehingga menghasilkan serangkaian rekomendasi perbaikan. Rekomendasi perbaikan tersebut dinilai resiko yang akan timbul dari perubahan yang dilakukan dengan bantuan risk matrix. Hasil perbaikan yang telah diterapkan dilakukan evaluasi hasil implementasinya, dikontrol konsistensinya dan diidentifikasi manfaat perbaikannya.

PT.XYZ is a sweetener factory producing sorbitol syrup and maltitol syrup
which are produced through several process steps. Almost every week customers
make changes to demand so that the daily demand fluctuations are quite high. In
addition, polyols demand continues to increase, while the current polyols
production process line are not able to meet the demand so that the back orders
appear every month. It requires the company to be able to manage its production
system continuously, effectively and efficiently by implementing lean six sigma in
identifying defect and waste, fixing defect and reducing waste to increase
production total output.
Identification of waste was done by arranging the current state value stream
mapping. While the identification of defect was done on critical processes in
polyols production with capability and stability analysis. The data obtained was
analyzed by using the cause effect diagram, 5 whys, and pareto diagram to produce
a series of improvement recommendations. Recommendations for improvement
were assessed the risks that will arise from changes made through risk matrix tool.
The result of the improvements that have been implemented are evaluated on the
implementation, controlled for the result consistency and identified the benefits of
improvement.
