Abstract
Indonesia merupakan penghasil buah kelapa terbesar kedua di dunia setelah Filipina. Pemanfaatan buah kelapa sangat luas terbukti dari tingginya permintaan global. Salah satu produk kelapa yang banyak dicari saat ini adalah virgin coconut oil. Produk virgin coconut oil diproduksi dengan kondisi murni dari bahan kimia dan keadaan terbaik, yaitu persentase trigliserida yang tinggi dan asam lemak bebas yang rendah sehingga cocok digunakan untuk bahan dasar produk kesehatan, kosmetik, produk rambut, serta untuk dikonsumsi sehari-hari. Tujuan dari pendirian pabrik ini adalah untuk meningkatkan produksi refined coconut oil berupa virgin coconut oil di Indonesia sehingga dapat diekspor dengan nilai jual yang lebih tinggi. Produksi dilakukan di daerah Indragiri, Riau, yang memiliki perkebunan kelapa seluas 387.552 hektar dan menghasilkan kelapa sebanyak 395.006 ton kelapa/tahun dimana 214.327 ton kepala/tahun masih belum dimanfaatkan. Produksi virgin coconut oil menggunakan proses fresh-wet pemanasan. Bedasarkan hasil studi desain pabrik ini didapatkan pabrik layak didirikan melalui pertimbangan nilai Laju Pengembalian Modal (IRR); Waktu Pengembalian Modal (POT); Titik Impas (BEP)

Indonesia is the second largest producer of coconut in the world after the Philippines. The use of coconuts is very extensive as evidenced by the high global demand. One of the most sought after coconut products is virgin coconut oil. Virgin coconut oil products are produced with pure chemical conditions and the best conditions, namely high percentage of triglycerides and low free fatty acids so that they are suitable for use in basic ingredients of health products, cosmetics, hair products, and for daily consumption. The purpose of the establishment of this factory is to increase the production of refined coconut oil in the form of virgin coconut oil in Indonesia so that it can be exported with a higher selling value. Production was carried out in the Indragiri area, Riau, which had coconut plantations covering an area of 387,552 hectares and produced coconut as much as 395,006 tons of coconut / year where 214,327 tons of head / year was still untapped. The production of virgin coconut oil uses the fresh-wet heating process. Based on the results of the plant design study, it was found that the factory was feasible to be established through consideration of the value of the Return on Capital (IRR); Time of Return of Capital (POT); Break-even Point (BEP)
