Abstract

Desain merupakan bagian penting dari proses untuk menciptakan suatu produk, maka konsep desain yang baik diperlukan. Desain yang baik adalah konsep yang umum digunakan dalam konteks desain perkotaan. Tujuan dari desain perkotaan adalah untuk memberikan nilai keberlanjutan sosial kepada masyarakat seperti dengan meningkatkan kehidupan ekonomi, hubungan sosial, dan menyediakan ruang publik yang aman, nyaman dan mudah diakses untuk semua orang tanpa memandang kemampuan fisik. Konsep desain yang baik telah diterapkan di beberapa bidang, seperti teknologi, arsitektur, dan perencanaan kota. Namun, masih terbatas telah dilakukan di bidang manajemen konstruksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menyelidiki beberapa indikator desain yang baik pada gedung pendidikan. Variabel penelitian diidentifikasi melalui tinjauan literatur. Survei pendahuluan dan uji pilot dilakukan sebelum survei kuesioner untuk memverifikasi variabel serta memastikan bahwa kuesioner telah dipahami dengan baik oleh responden potensial. Analisis yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu analisis deskriptif, analysis of variance (ANOVA), dan analisis faktor. Data dianalisis untuk menilai persepsi pemangku kepentingan dari pemerintah, konsultan dan masyarakat sebagai pengguna akhir. Hasil penelitian didapatkan kriteria untuk mengukur desain yang baik untuk bangunan pendidikan di Surabaya.

As design is an important part of the process to create a product, a good design concept is needed. Good design is a concept which is commonly used in the context of urban design. The aim of the urban design is to deliver social sustainability values to the community such as by improving economic life, social relations, and providing safe, comfortable and easily accessible public spaces for all people regardless of physical ability. The concept of good project design have been implemented in several fields, such as technology, architecture, and urban planning. However, still limited has been conducted in the area of construction management. This research investigated several indicators of a good design in educational building. Research variables were identified through an extensive literature review. Preliminary survey and pilot test were performed before the questionnaire survey to verify the variable as well as to ensure that the questionnaire has been well understood by the potential respondent. The analysis conducted in this research were descriptive analysis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and factor analysis. Data were analysed to know the stakeholders’ perceptions from the government, consultants and communities as the end users. The results showed criteria to measure a good design for educational building in Surabaya.
