Abstract
Sejak tahun 2000 laju pertumbuhan penduduk di atas usia 65 tahun di Indonesia sudah dirasakan lebih cepat dari laju pertumbuhan penduduk usia kerja, karenanya secara perlahan tapi pasti masalah lansia mulai mendapat perhatian pemerintah dan masyarakat. Salah satunya adalah penyediaan dan peningkatan kualitas sarana hunian yang layak bagi lansia berupa panti werdha, yang juga dapat diminati dan dipercayai oleh masyarakat. Usia 65 tahun oleh kebanyakan orang dideskripsikan sebagai lansia. Lansia adalah tahap lanjut dari proses kehidupan ditandai dengan perubahan atau penurunan fungsi fisiologis, psikologis dan sosiologis. Pemilihan konsep “wellness-care” yang berarti “sehat” pada Panti Tresna Werdha Hargo Dedali dilatar belakangi oleh kebutuhan lansia untuk meningkatkan kesehatannya agar dapat mencapai pola hidup dan perilaku sehat baik jasmani dan rohani. Selanjutnya, tetap dapat berada dalam kondisi kehidupan sejahtera serta bermanfaat bagi keluarga dan masyarakat. Konsep desain ini menyertakan elemen-elemen interior dan faktor lingkungan fisik yang dapat menciptakan suatu suasana lingkungan panti yang bersih, sehat, dan mampu membangkitkan semangat lansia dalam menjalani hari tuanya. Karakteristik lingkungan fisik diantaranya adalah situasi dan kondisi lingkungan institusi, dekorasi ruangan, suara, aroma, cahaya, peletakan dan layout yang Nampak, atau lingkungan yang penting sebagai obyek stimuli. Desain interior pada panti werdha ini juga memasukkan unsur tradisional yang akrab bagi lansia sehingga memudahkan bagi mereka untuk beradaptasi. Penerapan konsep “wellness-care” pada perancangan desain interior Panti Tresna Werdha Hargo Dedali ini juga diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan minat dan kepercayaan masyarakat pada panti werdha sebagai salah satu sarana usaha layanan keperawatan yang layak bagi lansia.

Since the year 2000, the working age population in Indonesia has been recognized to be outgrowing by the population of people over the age of 65, therefore slowly but surely the elderly problems begins to get the attention of the government and society. One of them is the provision and improvement of decent housing for the elderly in the form of nursing home, which is still not yet being sought and trusted by the general public. The age of 65 by most people are described as elderly. Elderly is a continuing process of living that has been characterized by a change or decline in physiological, psychological and sociological functions. "Wellness-care" means "healthy" is a concept that has been selected to be applied for Hargo Dedali Nursing Home based on the needs of the elderly to improve their health in order to achieve healthy life style and behavior, both physically and spiritually. Furthermore, these elderly need to be in a high level of well-being as well as beneficial to their family and society. This design concept include interior elements and physical environmental factors that can create a clean, healthy, comfortable atmosphere of the nursing home surroundings, that capable to lift up the elderly spirit towards the end of their life. The characteristics of the physical environment including the institutional situation and environmental conditions, room decor, the sound, the smell, the light, the placement and the visual layout that is important as an object stimuli. The interior design on the nursing home will also include the traditional elements familiar to the elderly, to make it easier for them to adapt. The application of the concept "wellness-care" on the interior design of Hargo Dedali Nursing Home is also expected to foster the interests and beliefs of the society in the nursing home as one of the proper nursing services for the elderly.
