Abstract
Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan analisa pengaruh variasi sudut louver fin terhadap perpindahan panas pada Compact Heat Exchanger. Compact Heat Exchanger merupakan salah satu jenis penukar kalor yang memiliki rasio antara luas bidang permukaan perpindahan panas dan volume tinggi. Pemilihan dan design heat exchanger dibutuhkan untuk menghasilkan perpindahan panas yang baik. Simulasi pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan dengan memvariasikan sudut louver fin yaitu sebesar 〖31〗^°, 〖36〗^°,〖41〗^°,〖46〗^° disertai dengan variasi kecepatan udara yang masuk sebesar 2.5 m/s dan 7.5 m/s. Karakteristik aliran yang terjadi berdasarkan hasil simulasi meliputi fenomena louver yang terjadi pada area disekitar louver fin. Hal ini terjadi karena adanya olakan yang disebabkan karena pemasangan louver fin yang dapat mengganggu pola aliran fluida yang mengalir, akibatnya lintasan dan luasan bebas alir fluida berkurang. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai perpindahan panas pada compact heat exchanger dengan memvariasikan sudut louver fin disertai variasi kecepatan udara masuk. Dimana dihasilkan nilai perpindahan panas paling baik pada sudut louver fin 〖41〗^° untuk variasi kecepatan udara masuk 2.5 m/s dan 7.5 m/s yaitu sebesar 21.8 watt/m2 dan 78.8 watt/m2.

This final project presents an analysis on the effect of variations in louver fin angle on heat transfer of the Compact Heat Exchanger. Compact Heat Exchanger is a type of Heat Exchanger which has a ratio between the area of the heat transfer surface and high volume. The selection and design of a heat exchanger is needed to produce good performance of heat transfer. The simulation in this final project is done by varying the fin louver angle which is equal to 31, 36, 41, 46 accompanied by variations in the incoming air velocity of 2.5 m/s and 7.5 m/s. flow characteristics that occur based on simulation results include the phenomenon of louvers that occur in the area around the fin louver. This happens because of the processing caused by the installation of the fin louver which can disrupt the flowing pattern of fluid flow, consequently the trajectory and the area of fluid free flow are reduced. The simulation result show an increase in heat transfer value in the compact heat exchanger by varying the angle of the louver fin along with variations in the air intake. Where the best heat transfer value is produced at the fin louver angle 41 for variation in inlet air velocity of 2.5 m/s and 7.5 m/s that is equal 21.8 watts/m2 and 78.8 watts/m2 .
