Abstract

Electric Control Fan merupakan teknologi yang mampu mendongkrak performa dan menurunkan emisi NOx yang dihasilkan oleh mesin diesel. Kelebihan dari electric control fan juga mampu bekerja secara otomatis sehingga sangat efektif jika di pasang. Sumber energi yang digunakan sebagai penggerak electric control fan adalah energi listrik. Jika diterapkan pada mesin diesel berukuran kecil daya yang dibutuhkan tidak akan terlalu besar. Sehingga electric control fan sangat cocok pada mesin – mesin diesel berukuran kecil atau yang memiliki volume ruang bakar (cc) yang kecil. Hal tersebut dikarenakan electric control fan mengubah sistem pemasukan udara naturally aspirated menjadi force induction system. Force Induction system merupakan teknik untuk menambah tekanan dan kapasitas udara secara dipaksakan /dipadatkan. Pengambilan data performa dan emisi NOx dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen. Eksperimen dilakukan dengan mesin diesel satu silinder tipe YANMAR TF85-MHDI. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian adalah emisi NOx berkurang hingga 0,648 g/kWh atau 17% dari kondisi mesin tanpa Electric control fan. Hasil eksperimen performa menunjukkan penggunaan electric control fan mampu mengurangi SFOC sebesar 18,443 gr/kWh. Power, dan torsi juga lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kondisi sebelum modifikasi. Sedangkan pengontrolan dengan sistem otomatis mengalami penurunan kapasitas sebesar 1.128% dari sistem manual.

Electric Control Fan is a technology that can boost performance and reduce NOxemissions produced by diesel engines. The advantages of the electric control fan are also able to work automatically so it is very effective when installed. The energy source used as an electric fan control driver is electrical energy. If applied to a small diesel engine the power needed will not be too large. So the electric control fan is perfect for small diesel engines or small volumes of combustion chamber (cc). The increased pressure and capacity in the combustion chamber results in significant performance improvements to the engine. This method can inhibit NOx formation during the combustion process. The use of Electric Control Fan has an impact as the SFOC engine decreases, the power and torque performance increases. The experiment was carried out with a YANMAR TF85-MHDI one-cylinder diesel engine. The results obtained in the study were NOx emissions reduced to 0.648 g / kWh or 17% of engine conditions without Electric control fan. The experimental results show that the use of an electric control fan can reduce SFOC by 18,443 gr / kWh. The results of power, and torque are also better than the conditions before modification. While controlling with an automated system has decreased capacity by 1,128% from the manual system.
