Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang penambahan tire chips sebagai subsitusi agregat kasar dan NaOH sebagai agen pengikat untuk melihat karakteristik beton komposit. Dilakukan variasi penambahan volume tire chips sebesar 5%, 10% dan 15% dan penggunaan konsentrasi NaOH sebesar 10%, 20% dan 30%. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan campuran beton normal pada benda uji berbentuk silinder dengan diameter 10 cm dan tinggi 20 cm. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji tekan, uji tarik belah dan densitas beton. Pengujian ini dilakukan pada saat beton berumur 28 hari. Semakin banyak penambahan volume tire chips pada beton menurunkan nilai kuat tekan, kuat tarik belah dan modulus elastisitas beton. Nilai tertinggi terjadi pada persentase karet 5% dengan konsentrasi NaOH 10% menghasilkan nilai kuat tekan beton sebesar 8,27 MPa, kuat tarik belah beton 5,17 MPa dan modulus elastisitas 13,46 GPa. ============================================================================================================================
Research on tire chips addition for coarse aggregate subsitution and the use of NaOH as binding agent has been carried out. The characteristic of composite concrete was undertaken using compression test and splitting tensile test on cylindrical specimen of 10 cm diameter and 20 cm height after 28 days. Tire chips amounts were varied in the range of 5% to 15%, while the NaOH concentration were also varied between 10% and 30%. As the amount of tire chips volume was increased, the compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and elasticity modulus decreased accordingly. Sample with 5% tire chips combined with 10% NaOH showed the highest compressive strength of 8.27 MPa, splitting tensile strength of 5.17 MPa and elasticity modulus of 13.469 GPa.
