Abstract
datang gelombang masing-masing. Didapatkan nilai rata-rata roll terbesar mencapai 4,53°
pada arah gelombang 120°, nilai rata-rata pitch terbesar 3,42° arah datang gelombang 180°,
nilai signifikan percepatan heave terbesar 1,98 m/s2 arah datang gelombang 180°, nilai
terbesar 2,36 m/s arah datang gelombang 180°. Sedangkan probability slamming terbesar

This final year project discusses an analysis carried out on AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug
Supply) MP Premier, as a vessel employed in the towing operation of FSO Arco Ardjuna
from Jurong Port in Singapore to Arjuna Marine Terminal at Java Sea. The analysis is
carried out on the motion of AHTS during the towing process, followed by the evaluation
on the possibility of slamming and greenwater. Based on those aspects further the AHTS
operability is investigated during the time towing process. Analysis is commenced by
modelling the AHTS with the aid of MAXSURF software to obtain the linesplan. The offset
data so generated is then used as the input data to analyse the AHTS when propagating in
regular waves, and the results are presented in the form of RAO graphs. Next AHTS during
the FSO towing operation is analysed in time domain simulation to derived its motion
responses. By conducting the relative vertical bow motion analysis on the basis of heave
and pitch RAOs combined with the wave spectra for operational condition hence the
spectral responses of AHTS’ relative vertical bow motion will be attained. Based on these
responses the analysis of slamming and greenwater probability could be performed. The
aforementioned aspects are then correlated to the seakeepig criteria to find out the capacity
of the AHTS to be emplyed in towing operation. Results of the analyses shows that
maximum motion responses occur when the vessel is at 85% fuel tank load. In accordance
to the wave propagations it is found that the maximum roll intensity may reach 4.53° at the
wave heading of 120°, maximum average pitch motion of 3.42° due to wave heading of
180°, maximum significant heave acceleration of 1.98 m/s2 at the wave heading of 180°,
maximum double significant roll of 14.48° imposed by the wave heading of 120°,
maximum significant heave motion of 6.03 m due to the wave heading of 180°, and the
maximum significant heave velocity of 2.36 m/s at the wave heading of 180°. Whereas the
slamming probability reaches 0.01259 at the 85% fuel tank load and the greenwater
probability of 0.01741 at full load condition, both are due to the wave heading 180°.
Considering those results it is found that AHTS MP Premier when operated in the towing
process of FSO Arco Ardjuna may reach an operability level as high as 98.99% by
referring to the corresponding general criteria and the limiting significant wave
height of 4.0 m.
